My stay at LA QUEBRADA ECO LODGE Hotel Boutique was absolutely wonderful! The bungalow was very nice and beautifully designed, offering a cozy and relaxing vibe. The staff was amazing, even though we arrived late, they went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. The next morning, they prepared an incredible breakfast that made the experience even more special. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

This place is an oasis! Clean, relaxing, great pool, amazing Sushi (and hamburger) Everything was wonderful! Santiago, Ignacio and Charlie were top notch! Every person was kind and helpful! Wish we could have stayed longer!

The resort had everything we needed, beachfront, food. Down the street 2 minutes was the best Indian food (and I have lived in India - it was really good!). The highlight for us were the massages - Paola was the best massage therapist! I saw her three days in a row. She was so attuned to my body, it was a very healing experience. She was so kind to me. I have had massages all over the world, and this was one of the best I ever received. My partner also saw Paoloa two days in a row and he agreed - Paola is a STAR! Thank you so much.

The BE Hotel is a bit out of the way but close to the center of Potrero. This town is lively, as there are stores and places to eat. There is also a school and a large sports field. You can see the working atmosphere here - there is construction work going on in many places. A little farther from the center on side streets you can admire beautiful villas, which are adjacent to modest houses. A few hundred meters behind the hotel you can meet grazing horses and cattle. Flowering shrubs and trees decorate it all. Our attention was drawn to the large number of free-roaming dogs of very gentle disposition. We did not once encounter aggression between them as well as towards us - they would come up and greet us in a friendly manner. From the BE hotel it is also a few hundred meters to Playa Penca. Here there is yellow sand and off-season perfect tranquility. During these two weeks, the number of people using this 750-meter beach varied from 6 (!!) to 60 people depending on the day.

Good value for the money. Very steep and challenging to get to…. Dirt roads with deep ravines.
Needed to go to Flamingo Beach for good sand and swimming. Great tent rental through Special Places.

Relaxing small beach community with a residential vibe. I prefer Portreo as a base - more than Tamarindo. Amazing local food options, fresh 🍉 produce at the market. The Esmeralda Villas are a place where you can read, unwind and enjoy lush gardens in peace. Then we took day trips to sail, surf, zip line etc. great place if you’re not interested in night clubs. Serene, healthy nature in a small town.

Playa Potrero is the 'middle' beach between 5 local beaches...
Playa Potrero is the 'middle' beach between 5 local beaches in a row and only a few minutes of each other. Each beach is different and has different amenities available. I recommend Playa Penga for those who want a beautiful beach with few people. Playa Danta is also great but a few minutes farther away, also with few people. Potrero has nearby resorts and several nice restaurants, depending on your tastes and budget. Highly recommend the area around Potrero as you can choose the beach that suits you best!

Potrero is a gem of a small beach town. Locals are friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. El Castillo has amazing food and staff. Hemingway’s is a wonderful spot to watch the pelicans and sunset. The staff there is amazing as well. I will be back!

Small town feel but with everything you need within walking distance: restaurants (great food) pharmacy; bakery; grocery; liquor store; beach activity rentals; long beach for walking and couple restaurants along beach. Not touristy - felt immersed in local community. Short drive to many other beaches and restaurants and adventure activities. It’s a perfect home base.

I had the absolute best time staying at Casa Papito. The hosts, Daniel and Charlotte, were friendly, accommodating and welcoming my whole stay with them. Such lovely people.
Great communication.
They have a beautiful home, warm pool and it's all a short walk from the beach and local amenities and restaurants. My room was spacious and clean, as was kitchen space.
I would recommend, especially for solo travellers like myself - would also suit couples and families.
Lovely set up of rooms/villas in well kept gardens and a nice pool. The little bit of luxury we wanted for the end of our trip. It is near the beach but at a fairly busy junction, the road isn't an issue from the rooms. We could hear howler monkeys every morning. The bed was really big and the bathroom was lovely. I'd recommend paying that little bit extra to have the patio and glass sliding doors. There is a restaurant and 2 small supermarkets within walking distance.
Hotel is set in a beautiful area just overlooking the Pacific Ocean, allowing access to a gorgeous beach setting.

The included breakfast featured both fresh local products and more continental options that were both tasty.
The swimming poll was great and the condo is very beautiful. They have a security gate and free parking lots. Emiliano provided beach chairs for us and was helpful. The air conditioning is very good and the beds were also good.
