Beautiful room and property. Very well maintained. Strategic location only minutes from a variety of beautiful and diverse beaches. A bit of two worlds: in a neighborhood of countryside feel only minutes from ocean rustic beaches and beach resorts.
Very thoughtful and comfortable set up in the room. The separate open kitchenette area allows refrigerating local ripe fresh fruits for example which is something I really appreciate. Kitchen is well equipped to cook meals.

The BE Hotel is a bit out of the way but close to the center of Potrero. This town is lively, as there are stores and places to eat. There is also a school and a large sports field. You can see the working atmosphere here - there is construction work going on in many places. A little farther from the center on side streets you can admire beautiful villas, which are adjacent to modest houses. A few hundred meters behind the hotel you can meet grazing horses and cattle. Flowering shrubs and trees decorate it all. Our attention was drawn to the large number of free-roaming dogs of very gentle disposition. We did not once encounter aggression between them as well as towards us - they would come up and greet us in a friendly manner. From the BE hotel it is also a few hundred meters to Playa Penca. Here there is yellow sand and off-season perfect tranquility. During these two weeks, the number of people using this 750-meter beach varied from 6 (!!) to 60 people depending on the day.

Needed to go to Flamingo Beach for good sand and swimming. Great tent rental through Special Places.

Relaxing small beach community with a residential vibe. I prefer Portreo as a base - more than Tamarindo. Amazing local food options, fresh 🍉 produce at the market. The Esmeralda Villas are a place where you can read, unwind and enjoy lush gardens in peace. Then we took day trips to sail, surf, zip line etc. great place if you’re not interested in night clubs. Serene, healthy nature in a small town.

Playa Potrero is the 'middle' beach between 5 local beaches...
Playa Potrero is the 'middle' beach between 5 local beaches in a row and only a few minutes of each other. Each beach is different and has different amenities available. I recommend Playa Penga for those who want a beautiful beach with few people. Playa Danta is also great but a few minutes farther away, also with few people. Potrero has nearby resorts and several nice restaurants, depending on your tastes and budget. Highly recommend the area around Potrero as you can choose the beach that suits you best!

Potrero is a gem of a small beach town. Locals are friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. El Castillo has amazing food and staff. Hemingway’s is a wonderful spot to watch the pelicans and sunset. The staff there is amazing as well. I will be back!

Small town feel but with everything you need within walking distance: restaurants (great food) pharmacy; bakery; grocery; liquor store; beach activity rentals; long beach for walking and couple restaurants along beach. Not touristy - felt immersed in local community. Short drive to many other beaches and restaurants and adventure activities. It’s a perfect home base.
The check in as everything else is well prepared. Everything was as discribed. Even better when you are there. The kitchen has everything you need so you are totally independend if you wish. The whole hotel area/room/pool is very clean. The more beautiful beach (not the closest) is still in walking distance. Staff is kind and very helpful if needed.

La quebrada lodge was a great place to stay ! We had the apartment with two beds and it was very comfortable, I loved the house design and the pool is great to relax.
People there are also very friendly and the beach playa penca (my favorite one) is a few minutes away walking :)

Beach front and size of the hotel. Small, not alot of guests, or crowds. Yoga classes offered on site, overlooking the ocean was definitely a plus, PJ, yoga instructor is excellent, highly recommended.
