This was an amazing stay that was far better than we hoped for. We were in room 131 which was at the very top of the hill nestled in the woods with a fantastic balcony looking into nature where numerous birds stopped by and we also saw howler monkeys. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable and helped us by carrying our luggage up to the room and down again when it was time to leave.
As far as the room, the beds were comfy, the shower was nice and hot with plenty of pressure, the space was ample, and the mini fridge was a nice bonus.
When you stay at Jaguarundi you gain access to the Hotel Ficus (a sister property) for happy hour in the afternoons and breakfast in the mornings. Being at the top of the hill as we were, it was a matter of steps to both of these amenities, which were wonderful. The happy hour drinks were tasty and inexpensive and we also got a salad and some hummus as an early evening snack. We had some really great conversations with the staff and learned a lot about the property and the town from the local's perspective. Breakfast was equally good, including coffee, tea, juice, fruit, toast with jams/butter, sausage, gallo pinto, eggs, pancakes, plantains, and more.
This hotel is close to town, allowing guests to walk to shops, restaurants, groceries, and other attractions. Check out the orchid garden and the Trapiche Coffee tour for sure.
We will repeat on our next trip to Monteverde, as we stop in every single time we visit CR. Highly recommended with friendly and helpful staff and surrounded by nature.

Monteverde is a great place to stay for nature tourists that are wanting to experience a legitimate cloud forest. I've been several times and absolutely love it. I would suggest not only visiting some of the several nature reserves, but also the orchid garden and the frog zoo. Oh yeah! try to find a night tour, also. A lot of the most interesting animals are nocturnal.

Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

Mo reverse was a beautiful place to visit, nice restaurants/bars/shops, it is very hilly (bring it’s up a mountain). Lots to do whilst there. We used Treetop’s a to go zip lining and high bridges walk, they were very professional and made sure your safety was top priority.

Loved my stay at Mariposa, lovely clean and quiet cabins in great surroundings. Breakfast is available over the road and there are a few other options within walking distance too. Esteban is a wonderful host! He gave me lots of information on getting around and places to see. Booked taxis and also helped me out with my laundry. Great location for monteverde cloud forest, curi cancha and enternal childrens rainforest. All within walking distance. Santa elena is a short taxi or bus ride away.
The place is managed by the most genuine couple we have ever met. They are amazing. There are only two casitas in total, and breakfast is served every morning on the porch at your convenience. The distances in Monteverde is quite short, so it’s just a short drive to different reserves and attractions. Moreover, a short walk to Santa Elena if you want to grab some food and drinks during the evenings.
A beautiful hotel set in the jungly hills. The staff were particularly good, very attentive and made you feel very welcome. Rooms were spacious, very clean and had lovely views. Breakfast that comes included is very nice too. We were here for our honeymoon so went for one of the more expensive hotels in Monteverde - I would say it was worth it for a special occasion.
It is an great hotel to stay in Monteverde, we have stayed in other hotel night before which can was 3 times more expensive and not as nice as this hotel.

Dave is a great host. He gave us a lot of great suggestions of activities to do in Monteverde. He is a passionate guy. The place was clean, and close to Santa Elena. Nice view for sunset.
