I like it when they give us the higher floor with a nice mountain view. The bed is comfy and the room is clean. But too expensive for they won’t offer a free breakfast for their guest only the coffee is free.

Very central and clean. Free parking.
We received 30 minutes grace regarding our checkout time as we had been taken out for breakfast by some friends and we were a bit late back… we were extremely grateful for this. Thanks to reception!

Its a beautiful small town nested between two lakes. 2-3 days is sufficient time, but I recommend planning to come around days of festival to get the best of the town.
Both lakes are beautiful, nearby Naramata Bench, Munson Mountain, Sun Rock, Wine Tasting, strolling on the streets, enjoying dinner at the Okanagan beach or kayaking from Okanagan lake to Skaha - plenty to do to have a fantastic summer weekend.

Penticton is a hot bed for cycling.
Penticton is a hot bed for cycling. There is a good, protected cycling route from Lake to Lake. There are still some connectablity issues but the city is working on this. Of course it is a jumping off place for the KVR to Kelowna, Chute Lake and the Southern Spur to OK Falls and beyond.
Motels like the Bowmont are great for cyclists as they have large rooms and allow you to store your bike inside.

I love Penticton.
I love Penticton. It has a very cute downtown and a small town appeal to it.
It has many micro breweries and restaurant choices so it is a great place to eat and hang out. If you go in the summer months it has a awesome farmers market downtown, every Saturday.
The beach along Okanagan Lake is beautiful.

If you like to cycle, swim, hanging out on a nice beach with a stand up paddle board, do a walking tour of multiple craft breweries and coffee shops, or just seek out great local wineries, then this place is for you. If you like gambling, I’d go somewhere else.
We will be back.

We came for medical reasons, and on the way between Summerland and Penticton there was a fatality on the highway which caused us to detour, taking a dirt FSR for 90 minutes. Thank you Google!! No one was out there to direct anyone. Once in our hotel in Penticton, we had a drink and toasted the poor person who passed . But then as we tried to head home the next day, another fatality happened on the same stretch of road and so we booked into a different hotel, this one with an outdoor heated pool. We made the most of a horrible situation, once more toasting the poor person that passed. BUT...locals say this is a common experience. Besides being horrifically sad, it's a real deterrent for us as tourists. No one wants to feel trapped or worse endangered as we drive that stretch of road into and out of Penticton. Maybe more policing that strip would slow these people down? Stricter road speeds? Hopefully you can come up with some solutions. We are worried about having to return for more medical appointments. Esp when winter comes and that FSR gets worse- there were some pretty dicey stretches of very narrow road or potholed places.

There are some gorgeous parts on the edges of Penticton and the outskirts, like right down by the water, around Skaha, and Naramata. Inner Penticton offers lots of excellent and unique shopping opportunities. There are many walking and hiking opportunities, and their museum (in the Library) is among the best I've ever visited. However, there is a considerable problem with the homeless population which grows and grows. I'm concerned for them, clueless as to how to help, but also I feel uncomfortable and (at times) unsafe as I'm informed that the drug problem plays a part, and drugs make people unpredictable.
The friendly staff , the knowledgeable staff on Penticton and amenities , clean ,comfortable , , really liked the large size shower and extra towels in the bathroom. and the location and proximity to the beach and restaurants was great and convenient .
I understand that the weekend we went was the busiest of the year, but too much money for the room.
I don't think I will go back k or recommend this hotel
