The old town is one of the best places I have ever visited in Bulgaria. Lots of good restaurants to choose from. The views of the snow capped mountains are simply breathtaking... I personally don't ski, but I have been up the mountain in the lift and there's a nice restaurant up there.

Bansko is a ski resort, but at a fraction of the price compared to established ski resorts. The culture is welcoming, friendly, and a determination to provide a great service for a fraction of the price for people learning to ski, or family ski holidays and the apres ski is great. The Old town is amazing and one must visit the traditions and culture of Bansko, I am hooked.

amazing mountains and walks, plenty of activities but not after 10th September as it shuts down for summer and even the gondolas up the mountain have very restricted times if at all and nothing up the mountain is open. So I'd advise to only go in peak times if you want to enjoy the activities. clean fresh area modern and very touristy area, more expensive in general than other areas of Bulgaria. very beautiful lots of springs in nearby Banya and fresh water to drink in the fountains. i'd definitely go back

Bansko was fresh and new and a very touristy destination, I...
Bansko was fresh and new and a very touristy destination, I arrived in a quiet period mid-September but I was told by many in peak times such as August December January it is pretty much a party town where hikers and skiers go. I'm not keen on party places so I was very content with the timing but I found this to be the most expensive part of Bulgaria that I had visited so far and they were pretty similar or sometimes more expensive than the UK {London} depending on what your buying but souvenirs were expensive in alot of outlets. But i still had a great time and recommend visiting. i stayed at the St. George ski and spa hotel and the spa was small but Mitin was a excellent masseur and the food was great but the room had its issues and no aircon even though it was specified in my booking , reception told me basically tough luck and to open the window but quite alot of the fly's come in if you do that and the coffee/tea in the room is not free like other hotels. i wouldn't recommend staying there. but Banskovilla is great and very traditional we had a nice experience there and food fantastic.

I will not recommend Bansko because even in the off season period the prices in the restaurants are inarguably high. Moreover during the active winter season it becomes overcrowded and taking in mind the high prices, it does not worth spending your vacation in Bansko. For the same amount you can try the Austrian Alps where the conditions are superior compared to Bansko.

so traditional and a perfect introduction to Bulgaria. The facilities were spotless . I observed the host / hostess constantly cleaning and mopping the areas . The Breakfeast presentation was 5 star . I observed the host constantly topping up the cheese toasts and crepes on the hot plate . The host / hostess were truly delightful and took time to engage . it was my best visit to Bansko . I cannot understand how this property is only branded as 3 star ?? it is truly 5 star . A fantastic representation of Bulgaria’s best .
The facilities of this hotel are very good: piscina, sauna, restaurant, parking space etc. We had a two bedroom villa with large living room and a nice terrace; the furniture and amenities were high quality. Breakfast at the restaurant had plenty of options to choose from.
Dobrinitshe is a small village close to Bansko (10 mins drive by car) and has the advantage that everything is significantly less expensive: e.g. food, ski equipment rental.
This apartment is located within a hotel. Its location is the best for skiing ( proximity to the gondola). The apartment was very comfortable and the television was beyond our expectations. We could access Eurosport ( Australia Tennis Open) and Netflix.. in prior visits to other places in Bansko, we had very little TV in English. The Morris Bar at the front of the hotel is a very welcoming place, at any time of the day.
The apartment, the SPA and the hotel itself were very very very clean. The hygiene was at its best. The suite was very comfortable and cozy. One of the best things was that there was a laundry machine available in the suite and we had no problems with wet or smelly ski clothes. The rooms were enough heated and the laundry dried in one night. The views of Pirin and the golf course were spectacular.
The hotel is with great location, just a minute away from the ski lift. There is an underground parking, which is very useful, especially in the cold winter days. The room was very spacious and the staff were very polite and friendly.
