The Hotel Dumanov is an excellent hotel, with really friendly and helpful staff, who went out of their way to help me find a day sac I left behind in a local taxi. amazing mountains and walks, plenty of activities but not after 10th September as it shuts down for summer and even the gondolas up the mountain have very restricted times if at all and nothing up the mountain is open. So I'd advise to only go in peak times if you want to enjoy the activities. clean fresh area modern and very touristy area, more expensive in general than other areas of Bulgaria. very beautiful lots of springs in nearby Banya and fresh water to drink in the fountains. i'd definitely go back

Bansko was fresh and new and a very touristy destination, I arrived in a quiet period mid-September but I was told by many in peak times such as August December January it is pretty much a party town where hikers and skiers go. I'm not keen on party places so I was very content with the timing but I found this to be the most expensive part of Bulgaria that I had visited so far and they were pretty similar or sometimes more expensive than the UK {London} depending on what your buying but souvenirs were expensive in alot of outlets. But i still had a great time and recommend visiting. i stayed at the St. George ski and spa hotel and the spa was small but Mitin was a excellent masseur and the food was great but the room had its issues and no aircon even though it was specified in my booking , reception told me basically tough luck and to open the window but quite alot of the fly's come in if you do that and the coffee/tea in the room is not free like other hotels. i wouldn't recommend staying there. but Banskovilla is great and very traditional we had a nice experience there and food fantastic.

I will not recommend Bansko because even in the off season period the prices in the restaurants are inarguably high. Moreover during the active winter season it becomes overcrowded and taking in mind the high prices, it does not worth spending your vacation in Bansko. For the same amount you can try the Austrian Alps where the conditions are superior compared to Bansko.

Despite being set up as a ski resort, Bansko is a great destination in summer! We were there with our son, who is almost 3, and there was lots for him to do! The chairlift is a great thing to do because it takes you to an open plain up the mountain with a bar/restaurant, and there are inflatables for kids to play on - well worth it! The golf course at Pirin is not far away, and a day trip to the bear sanctuary, which is really close to the kids play park at Relo, was a great daytrip from Bansko. The scenery is amazing, and I would gladly return! Eating out is not the cheapest (per Bulgarian standards), but there are may options and the food was great wherever we went!

Beautiful ski resort town open all year.
Beautiful ski resort town open all year. Fantastic hikes, access to lifts and gondolas. Extremely friendly people and easy to navigate speaking only English and basic Bulgarian. A variety of bars, pubs, restaurants and mehanas to enjoy. The town is small enough to easily walk around and enjoy the views. Highly recommend the craft beer pub on the high street. Slightly pricey but an amazing selection of beers and lovely staff.
Nice hotel very close to Gondola lift. Friendly staff, good restaurant (there were freshly made omelets, a selection of cold cuts and vegetables), not new but very cozy rooms, stylish hall. There was a SPA zone with pool, hammam and sauna. The room was cleaning every day, new towel were given also.
There are ski rent and storage on the ground floor and many tasty restaurants next to the hotel.
The nights were silent and calm, there weren't any problems with hot water and heating.
Excellent hospitality. Rooms are equipped with all needed facilities. SPA center has jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. Small fitness, swimming pool and children swimming pull are also available. Hotel has a restaurant with Bulgarian cuisine .
Free transfer from hotel to ski gondola about 250 Mtrs away, swimming pool, sauna, gym, ski gear available for renting inside hotel, cleanliness, friendly stuff, food was excellent, spacious apartment.
Decent hotel . Thought the breakfast was limited for a 4 star hotel but OK. Little out of the way for the gondola and limited ski transfers but overall reasonable vfm
