Location was good. When we checked in the gentleman on reception was very helpful with minding our bags before our rooms were ready. Has a shop in reception.

Great location, lovely staff and a cool vibe. Very close to the centre and central train station. The complimentary coffee in the foyer is a nice touch.
Machelen has a tired and dejected air about it. There looks like some work to improve its look may have been started but definitely work in progress. We wandered around the centre of the town and most of the shops and restaurants are closed. Found a couple of places open. The most memorable part of our stay is the constant noise from aircraft taking off from Brussels airport every few minutes drowning out any chance of conversation. I'm not surprised that restaurants are closed! It's very unlikely that we will want to stay again in Machelen.
