    Wollongong is a lovely place to explore with a great coastal vibe. I do enjoy a day trip down there every now and again. Close enough for a comfortable drive yet far enough away that you feel like you have escaped the rat race. The only downfall is that Chicos is gone.

    Just a big country city like many others.

    Just a big country city like many others. Nice beachfront area to wander around. They have a free bus which does a loop around the city and out into the suburbs a bit, we caught it on the beachfront and the circuit took about 4o minutes. A good way to have a look around with someone else doing the driving. It seems to pass any given stop about every 10 minutes so is easy to catch.

    Lovely beachs and walks. a few historic buildings and the Museum was quite informative. Not sure if I would hurry back, but glad we came. Thought there would be more older architecture but felt that its becoming a high rise haven. 'pubs' with charm were lacking - did stumble across one on our last day The Illawarra which looked great.

    Beautiful beaches and restaurants especially Lagoon if you love seafood this is the place to dine. Drinks at the lobby bar in the Novotel were great sitting in the outdoor area very enticing atmosphere.

    Plenty to do in Wollongong. beaches, restaurants, cafes and plenty of stuff for the kids to do as well. The beautiful Southern Highlands only an hour away and further south of Wollongong there's a load of beaches and beautiful scenery to experience. Easy to get around but would suggest having you own vehicle.

    Wollongong is underrated.

    Wollongong is underrated. Great beaches, great walking and cycling. It is easy to get to and easy to get around. We normally come down for day trips but the overnighjt stay was great for going to a local performance.

    The location is great. It's a close walking distance to everything. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, the hotel is very clean and so was our room. The rooms were comfy and parking was great aswell. I would definitely recommend staying at the Sage hotel and we look forward to visiting again soon.

    Everything was great, staff friendly, meal was great. Hotel has a separate entry so no noise, or pub customers not a problem at all. FREE parking no where is far for Wollongong so great location for lots of day trips. Not walking distance to the beach though, just a short drive.
