The room was really neat and comfortable, the back door opened onto an amazing view of the historic site. I appreciated the heating and although the wifi was a little intermittent it was good enough that I could get some work done in the evenings.

Devil's Lair self-contained eco cabin, hotel in Port Arthur

Devil's Lair self-contained eco cabin is located in Port Arthur, just 4.2 miles from Port Arthur and 5.6 miles from Port Arthur Historic Site.

Extraordinarily beautiful location with the most magnificent views - simply stunning. The eco-cabin was delightful, equipped with all the necessary modern essentials without detriment to that 'get away from it all' stay. We loved the freedom from connection with the rest of the world, albeit for one night. We were met on arrival by Phil and taken straight up to the cabin - very simple and friendly.

Large historic site with a 2 day pass is very interesting with many photo opportunities. The 2 day pass also includes a 45 minute scenic ferry ride. There is quite a bit of walking involved but you can do it at your own pace. There are some shuttles if you have some mobility issues

Port Arthur has a lot of history and is worth a visit.

Port Arthur has a lot of history and is worth a visit. As for The Fox and Hounds I’d swerve it as there is clearly no pride there and they are not promoting their product well at all. It’s one for Gordon Ramsey to get stuck into before it gets shut down. We left a day early due to its filthy unkept condition. We were contacted by the Fox and Hounds to ask why we left and told them. They apologised but offered no form of reimbursement. Why would they, they have my money. Id be embarrassed to work there knowing how bad it is. Has massive potential if the correct management run the place.

The actual Convict area is simply amazing as are the free talks that occurred during the day. We were not fully prepared for the lack of outlets for food, lack of super market, restaurants etc. The one good out let offered a range of take away food but not good!

The historic site is magnificent and well managed.

The historic site is magnificent and well managed. The general store is very disappointing, you should not rely on it if you are self catering Gabriel's, the restaurant by the beach , was excellent I recommend it. The restaurant at the Port Arthur motel featured poorly trained staff who seemed unaware of what service means. My girlfriend was served lukewarm seafood chowder with both the spoon and the garlic bread partially submerged. She asked for the chowder to be properly heated, this was seemingly done in a microwave. It was then returned with the same soggy bread.

Couldn't get into ghost tours or 1830 restaurant.. they were closed. Tried to get helicopter flight.. left message but never responded. Only 1 decent restaurant but the meals a bit light on considering price point and didn't seem to serve full meal. Loved the unzoo.

Viv has set up a beautiful accommodation in lovely part of Tasmania. It is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and had everything you could need and one of the best breakfasts we've had. Plus new bread and biscuits. Copious amounts of information about the local area Anya detailed folder on how all the utilities work. Viv was a lovely and helpful hostess. This place has everything you need and more. Thanks for a lovely stay, Viv. We highly recommend a stay here.
