The cabin was gorgeous, well fitted out, super comfy and had exceptional views and privacy. Lots of very thoughtful touches like extra blankets and slippers. And awesome gin tastings at the distillery to boot We just loved it.
We did the ghost tour and the Isle of the Dead tour.

Guides were both amazing and their knowledge was great.
I learned a lot.
The facilities are great.
You'd be mad not to visit it if you visit Tassie.

Historical site is beautiful for a day trip to learn about history of Port Arthur. It’s pricey for a family @$120 but does include a short cruise (with hot food). There’s a lot of walking and lots of goodies at the gift shop.
Local grocery stores have hot food too and lovely homemade cakes at tourist prices.
Restaurants at Port Arthur motor inn serves sizeable dinner dishes at reasonable prices.

Port Arthur is an amazing place to visit, a dreamy parkland in a delightful harbour with terrible stories to tell. We were there for two days and really only scratched the surface of what was on offer. So much to see and do, staff were superb, if you ran out of steam walking the sights, there were courtesy vehicles passing every 5-10 minutes. Important to look at the museum details at the entrance and book an included boat trip before walking the grounds, as it provides the necessary background and context. Pace yourself and it is easy to do with cafes at the entrance and near the Asylum. Try the scallop pie, it set the standard for the rest of our 11-day self-drive trip around Tasmania. The standard of display and the seemingly random array of characters that are introduced as you walk around, make it all come to life. Two days were not enough, and we were in sensory overload when we left. There is so much more, close by. Unzoo was fascinating to walk among and feed animals in almost the wild, and for a superb fish meal try the Little Norfolk Bay Bistro where Ellie's fish special will be the fish meal you will use as gold standard from then on.

Fascinating place, need to be fairly fit to walk round all of it, although they had complementary buggies to take you around. Value for money, , if you havent seen all of it your ticket will cover the next day too, small boat trip included in price. We went on the nighttime ghost tour, highly recommended.

Prison was well worth having a look around , enjoyed the boat roar which was included . The lavender farm restaurant was superb. Would have liked to have looked around the lavender fields but it was chucking it down with rain.

Large historic site with a 2 day pass is very interesting with many photo opportunities.
The 2 day pass also includes a 45 minute scenic ferry ride.
There is quite a bit of walking involved but you can do it at your own pace. There are some shuttles if you have some mobility issues

A quaint little hotel in the small town of Port Arthur.
Not the best in terms of facilities but such an awesome experience for our family to meet and enjoy an evening with the locals at Fox and Hounds!
Very good sized lodge with kitchen/living area separate from the bedroom. Beautiful bush setting with easy access to the foreshore path towards Port Arthur and Stewart’s Bay.
Everything, highly recommend the safari tents, 2 adults, 2 children with lots to do in the area. Wildlife, walk tracks, beach, its all there and our best stay in Tasmania.
