Halls Gap is a fantastic destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Nestled in the heart of the Grampians National Park, it offers stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and a range of outdoor activities.
Highlights of my visit included:
The Pinnacle Lookout: A challenging hike that rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views.
Halls Gap Zoo: A delightful spot to see native Australian animals up close.
MacKenzie Falls: One of the largest waterfalls in Victoria, perfect for a refreshing break.
The town itself is charming, with friendly locals and a variety of dining options. Whether you’re into hiking, wildlife spotting, or simply relaxing in a beautiful setting, Halls Gap has something for everyone. I highly recommend it for a memorable getaway!

This was my first visit to Halls Gap.
This was my first visit to Halls Gap. I loved the trees, mountains and dining possibilities. There are so many short and long walks to do in the area. We went on a long walk and a couple of short ones over the two days. It is a good place for active outdoor loving people.

We had 2 days (1 night) and it was not enough! By the time we visited the zoo and enjoyed the company of free roaming deer, birds and more, plus the giraffes, cheetahs and HEAPs of other options, it was time to squeeze in the first mini-hike to one of the water falls.
Then trying to fit in a couple of walks and a very much fun electric scooter adventure on the second day was tricky -we could have spent at least another 2 days there!
Great location a short walk from Halls Gap. We were with UK friends who were keen to see local wildlife, so having friendly kookaburras sitting on the balcony and kangaroos hopping by the back garden was absolutely magical. The house was clean comfortable and the wood burner was cosy. We will definitely come back.
The bed was very comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with nice sharp knives. It was also lovely having a big open space where wildlife came to gather each evening in the holiday park. The fact that it was within walking distance of the Halls Gap Hotel was brilliant too.
Location of the house was very close to the main halls gap restaurants. Beds were comfortable. Great speed internet. All amenities worked fine. Backyard with views. Self check in was very convenient with the code.
Great value for money cabins just out of the busy part of Halls Gap. Very clean and comfortable, with wood supplied generously each day to make for a very cosy evening in.
