We love Castlemaine. The motel we stayed in was excellent. Compare to where we live, it's very quiet and the residents are very friendly and relaxed. Great pub, great opshop, nice scenery. We would love to live there.

Hi Albion Team,
Hi Albion Team,
Enjoyed my stay, only one gripe and that is regarding your tapwater, it is disgusting, so tea and coffee made with it also tastes disgusting. Highly recommend you provide Springwater for your guests to drink or make beverages with.
Best regards,
John.

We really liked Castlemaine - so much to do plus it has the good vibe of a functioning rural town! For anyone who doesn't do 'twee' this is a great town to visit.
The Botanic Gardens are worth a visit if you are into birds and flora or if you want a quiet stroll.
The nearby art markets are also worth a visit and as is the Shades Of Gray garden gallery.
We also enjoyed a ride on the steam train and the rail trail bike ride to Maldon.

Lovely old gold boom architecture, beautiful tree-lined streets (great in autumn).
Amazing bookshop.
The Mill (recently recycled industrial complex) is very well done with interesting and high quality specialist outlets (cheese, wine, smallgoods, etc.) and a great Viennese cafe (couldn't believe it!).

A pleasant country town with a lot of history.
A pleasant country town with a lot of history. Nice tree lined streets and old historic buildings. The road traffic through the town centre is a bit chaotic and too fast making it a bit tricky to cross at times. Some Nice coffee shops in town and the visitor information centre is worth a visit.

Character filled hotel but still very comfortable - I think I had booked a shared bathroom room but was upgraded to an ensuite room so very much appreciated that! It was very convenient to where we needed to be. The little bakery behind the hotel off the car park has excellent takeaway coffee and pastries too! I would definitely stay again when next in Castlemaine.
Very very clean and can access the motel 24/7. It's on the main road coming into Castlemaine but inside the motel was extremely quiet. Updated bathroom. Good proximity to Castlemaine with free WiFi and television (not smart )Well stocked with towels, shampoo conditioner, hairdryer Tea, coffee ,kettle, toaster , microwave, iron etc.Really great value.
Hospitality was excellent and the motel was comfy and all that you need was available. Some hotels don't offer what was available in this country motel.Highly recommend to anyone.
Location was very good and market just across the road and great bush walking behind the property.
Thank you Albion .
what a gem! a little out of the centre of town, which suited us because of the proximity to the Goldfields walking track, but still just a very quick drive into the main part of Castlemaine. a lovely place to stay with a lovely host.
Clean and comfortable. Renovated bathroom. Even provided with electric blanket. Room ready for us on early arrival. Situated in the lovely quaint tourist town of Castlemaine. A very comfortable stay.
