Loved how private the location was and how beautiful the room was. Can’t say enough about how accommodating the host was. He was truly a great help and really catered to us. The breakfast was truly outstanding and the breakfast room gorgeous. Best breakfast the whole trip.

This hotel is open 24/7, is located directly on the highway rest stop with free parking and more or less borders one of the lakes. It is perfect for people looking for a quick rest on a long drive. There's a convenience store right there too. It is not a fancy hotel by any means, but perfect for what it is advertised for. The staff is very welcoming and nice - I arrived here at midnight and was accommodated very well.
Just 656 feet from the banks of Lake Wörth, Hotel Plattenwirt is located next to the Europapark, a 10-minute walk from the Minimundus miniature park and from Klagenfurt University.
It was very nice. We enjoyed it here very much. It’s an old castle with fascinating history. At first it was a bit scary, to sleep in a castle, but after a while we fell in love with it. It has some magic about it. We ate in pörtschach in a hawaian restaurant, tasty vegan food. We didn’t try the breakfast. At first look, I felt like running away. At the last one, I felt like I don’t want to leave. It was a unique experience. I’m happy that I experienced this.
For sure, if in one word: Extraordinary!

The location was excellent, with close proximity (by car) to the Wörthersee and private access to a smaller pond/lake directly in front of the hotel. The rooms are massive, comfortable and super clean. Furthermore, all of the staff were very friendly during our stay. The breakfast buffet was not extensive but offered everything we needed and exceeded my expectations, especially considering the cost.
This was the best hotel I have stayed at in years. The location is perfect. The staff were friendly and easy to understand. I would definitely stay here again!
An incredible experience, highly recommend over any hotel. So much more unique and so much history. The Schloss is so well preserved, will try to come again.
