This is a small and nice hotel in a great location, with a view to the river. Beautiful interior, everything is perfectly clean. The staff is very nice. The kitchen is outstanding, the chef is amazing! Everything was perfect and very delicius, and their liver dumpling soup is one of the best in Europe! Really!

It was an excellent hotel with outstanding mother/daighter running it. They were extraordinarily generous to us when we faced the atrocious storms which did so much damage in Austria and elsewhere. We left early because of the weather and the team was brilliant in helping us. Before that, even little touches like fresh milk in our room for tea when we got in at the end of the day showed their standard of hosting. Absolutely wonderful.

The hotel might look a little 'tired' from the outside and, while quite old, was very clean, comfortable and had all the expected facilities. Parkin was easy, the restaurant and bar were excellent for an evening meal and drink; food was good quality and very reasonably priced. There was a good breakfast with a wide choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English.
Located in Asten, only a 5- minute drive from the highway and a 20 -minute drive from Linz, Gasthaus-Pension zum Löwen offers free WiFi accessand free parking on site.

Many attractive buildings in the town itself. Interesting gigantic ancient trees which would sadly certainly have been lopped in the UK
Great breakfast and very helpful owner. We were biking, and as the property lies a bit out of Mauthausen, we were glad to be given a nearby restaurant to eat in. It is about a 10 min bike ride outside Mauthausen center, in case you want to stay in the town itself or biking in bad weather and don't want to get back on your bikes for dinner.
A very good hotel for one night. New, easy to find, friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, excellent breakfast, big parking in front of the hotel. I also had Wi-Fi in the room (Booking.com says it is only available in public areas).
