We had an amazing time at Hoyo Hoyo for a 3 night safari trip as part of our honeymoon. The game drives were good and the room had a great view. The food is definitely a highlight, having had excellent service and variety throughout - the choices given at each meal were superb and all of the meat was incredible.
We did see the big 5 even if 2 of the sightings were brief, the amount of elephants in the park is a big positive!

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
The location, in the middle of Mayleneta wild reserve was superb. Non-fenced camp site with tents from the ground on wooden platforms. Made it a fantastic experience. The game drive’s were fantastic, we saw the big five after 2 drives, from very close by. The quality of the meals was really fantastic. Bring your own wine/beer or order on forehand.
Buffelshoek is an unfenced rustic camps that offers all amenities such as plugs in the main hut, hot water, mosquito nets, and wifi. Huts are literally in the bush and give you and fabulous view of the savanna. Each hut comes with a patio that you can use for exercising. Part of the package are drive games by knowledgeable field guides.
The couple that runs the camp and its staff are lovely and helpful.
Chalet was very clean and well equipped. Table and benches outside on grass are handy but not under cover. Camping area - ablutions are nice and clean. Self drive in Manyeleti Park - nice and quiet. Very close to Orpen gate for day drives in Kruger.
Had a lovely breakfast in the restaurant.
