Nooitgedacht Trout Lodge, hotel in Lydenburg

Offering an outdoor pool and views of the mountain, Nooitgedacht Trout Lodge is set in Lydenburg in the Mpumalanga Region, 5 km from Anglo-Boer War Fort ruins.

We enjoyed a wonderfully luxurious and tranquil stay, very well looked after by Vicky and Patricia. Vicky's cooking was excellent and varied. Our room was large and comfortable. The bath was pool sized and enjoyed greatly by our young boys. The main attraction of the place is its remoteness, swallowed in seclusion by mountains where the outside world is left behind. We were lucky to spot a leopard. The river fishing and spa services were enjoyed too.

Stonecutters Lodge, hotel in Lydenburg

Situated in between Dullstroom and Lydenburg, this picturesque Trout Lodge is bordered by a river with 2 dams, regularly stocked with trout.

The property is pretty, the beds are great, underfloor heating is a nice touch. We arrived early without having lunch and they made an accommodation for us which was appreciated.

Looking for a cabin?
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

Lovely place with beautiful setting. Super host with outstanding decor. Great attention to detail. Chalet is situated in a game camp- we arrived a bit late and it was a pity that we could not see much of the animals.

Great raised deck and an amazing entertainment area. Massive Fireplace and en suite rooms to all 4 bathrooms. Fantastic layout of the cottage - very spacious.
