Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
The animal viewing from the decks was just fantastic. One can stay up all night and see the comings and goings of game.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. We found it good value for money due to the animal viewing experience. So many elephants so close. We HIGHLY recommend The Ark for a game viewing stay without leaving the hotel. Shower gel, shampoo, hand cream and soap all supplied in the bathroom. Bottled water in the room.
The staff were great ,very friendly and they gave us a reason to visit the hotel again.The breakfast was on another level,lots of variety to choose from and nicely cooked n delicious. The rooms are fresh,neat ,spotless, and well organised.
The room was very bright and comfortable and the location very convenient - right round the corner from Nyeri Town central matatu station. Breakfast included and served me well on my hike to Zaina Falls and Chania valley! Staff very friendly. Asante sana - nitarudi tena!
