The capsules are clean, private and surprisingly comfortable. Ventilation could be better in the capsule but overall it was good!! Facilities were clean and staff were nice!!

I like how clean and helpful the staff was. When the female staff came to clean they were careful about opening the doors. The locker was standard. I did like we got a fresh set of towels. I wasn't sure but when I came back they and a pair of slides were in a bag. I loved the floor level break level and that the water machine had a hot option as well. Oh, and that private tub area looks just like the picture and was nice. The products provided were nice as well. There's a talk mirror so you can check how you look before leaving.

This place is all wood and it smells so good inside. There is ambient music all day, and it is very peaceful. The sleeping spaces have a safe, shelves, outlets, adjustable lighting, etc. I was really amazed by the place. The owner is really nice too.

Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.
Excellent ryokan stay near Lake Biwa! We had a private bath in our room which was lovely, and the room itself was spacious with a separate dining area which was very convenient. Provided toiletries were high quality and the ameneties bar was well-stocked. Staff were friendly and adept at using translation apps to speak with us as necessary. Whole area was quiet and overall a wonderful night spent.
We were met with friendly staff, who in no time completed our check in, and served us with a drink while we waited. We were then guided to our room with clear explanation of things we needed to know. The breakfast and dinner were really an eye-opening experience in the Japanese food culture. The private in room onsen was just superb.
A beautiful room, on the corner. Amazing view on the lake. Romantic dinner in the Japanese restaurant with very friendly waitresses. Certainly recommended !
The hotel staff assisted me to find back my AirPod lost in the room, and delivered to my Tokyo hotel. Truly appreciated . And thanks for the help.
There’s free shuttle bus take you to nearby railway station, kind of convenient instead of by walking.
The lake view is awesome!
1. Room with Japanese style and stmosphere, but big enough.
2. Service is very good, not only the friendly and passionate staff, but also the local snacks, wine, provided in lobby.
I loved everything about Yumotokan. It was my 2nd time staying at their accomodation.
Everyone is friendly, the staff were very professional and welcoming. They treat you very well, take care of you as if you were a king/queen. I really do appreciate all the staff there who made my 2nd visit welcoming & fun! The onsens were beautiful & relaxing. Food prepared by chef tasted so fresh & delicious. Rooms are huge & very japanese traditional style.
I would definately come back in the future.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and the guy owning the cafe downstairs plays really nicely the piano. The kitchen is beautiful and has a relaxed atmosphere, and I especially liked the Sento (Japanese bathing house). Oh and of course, the beach is almost in front of the hostel!
Living in a historical Japanese style house. It’s really relaxing and comfortable. And the staffs are super friendly, also the breakfast is very delicious!!
It was very nice to stay in a real Japanese house. It was well outfitted and very clean with many amenities. It was a little hard to find in the dark. Hostess was very friendly and communicative
