Located in Otsu, a 9-minute train ride from Kyoto Station, Calendar Hotel has a terrace and rooms with free WiFi access. Featuring a shared lounge, this 2-star capsule hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom. Guests can sample European dishes at the on-site restaurant. Very clean and comfortable to stay. They provide various amenities including pajamas and moisturiser cream, that may be common in accommodations in Japan but I didn’t expect they would provide it in a capsule hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They would tell you good places to visit in Shiga prefecture. The breakfast was good and definitely worth the price.
Excellent ryokan stay near Lake Biwa! We had a private bath in our room which was lovely, and the room itself was spacious with a separate dining area which was very convenient. Provided toiletries were high quality and the ameneties bar was well-stocked. Staff were friendly and adept at using translation apps to speak with us as necessary. Whole area was quiet and overall a wonderful night spent.
The hotel eventhough budget hotel it fullfil all the needs. The room clean eventhough small, but still have space for me and my daughter. I have book 2 rooms for family of 4. The breakfast is suffiecient and typical asian/japanese food. The staff is not fluent in english but they try their best to help

We loved the location right next to the railway station. This made things easy for travelling to and from Osaka and was convenient to use as a direction for taxi drivers. I loved the view from my room of the trains passing by. Not overly noisy. There was a great little yakitori restaurant just over the road. Cheap and delicious.
Cost price ratio is high, beautiful Biwah Lake scenery. Food is delicious . The staff are very friendly and endeavoured to communicate albeit not be understood the Japanese.
The host was very friendly, provided lots of hot water for the room and gave me a lift to the station on the last day. The room was sufficient and I loved the hot stone bath. The location is a short walk to Hikone Castle in a quiet street, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, supermarket and a convenient store near by.
Very near to station! And situated opposite a mall where there’s daiso and a supermarket so overall it’s a super convenient spot. The breakfast spread (Japanese breakfast set topped with buffet spread) was tasty and good value for money. The room was bigger than usual Japanese hotel sizes we saw in the past and comfortable space overall. View was good too

I loved everything about Yumotokan. It was my 2nd time staying at their accomodation. Everyone is friendly, the staff were very professional and welcoming. They treat you very well, take care of you as if you were a king/queen. I really do appreciate all the staff there who made my 2nd visit welcoming & fun! The onsens were beautiful & relaxing. Food prepared by chef tasted so fresh & delicious. Rooms are huge & very japanese traditional style. I would definately come back in the future.
Breakfast was good. Room was a bit small but otherwise fine. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location next to the train station was very convenient.
