HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa HAKATA, hotel in Fukuoka

Boasting a bar, HEARTS Capsule Hotel & Spa HAKATA is situated in the centre of Fukuoka, 300 metres from Ninjin Park.

I can only say good things about this hotel. For the price, it is probably the best hotel you could get in Fukuoka, as long as you have no problem with staying in a capsule. I stayed for one week straight, and I could stay even longer. The bathroom and onsen are also quite good. I couldn't check in the first two days of my booking due to the typhoon-related flight delays. But in the end, the property agreed to refund me the first two days even though they didn't legally have to do it. It is just wonderful staff and honest business. Thank you very much!

All capsule hotels in Fukuoka
Looking for a capsule hotel?
Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

Remember, it’s a guest house and a capsule hotel, so for what you get it’s mostly very good! The staff are friendly, the facilities are good considering the price you pay. The breakfast is generous, toast, yogurt and tea, more than some other competitors offer. Most places in Fukuoka are expensive so if you are visiting the Team Labs Forest Exhibit, the castle or enjoying the beaches, this is a great place to stay. It’s also near a subway station so it’s not very difficult, unless you have a big suitcase!

Very stylishly decorated hotel which feels newly refurbished. None of the fittings seemed old or outdated. Front staff were friendly and accommodating, they seemed to be able to speak English as well (although I spoke to them in Japanese). Very closely located to one of the main train lines, which is very convenient.

Cool themed capsule hotel. The pods were spacious and the surroundings sleeping quarters were quiet at all times of the day. The community bathrooms were really spacious and had a lot of toiletries for free if you didn't bring your own.

For a capsule hotel it was a very nice stay! The shelf above the bed was super helpful for storing things. The lighting and moving bed feature controlled by the iPod was great. I found it quiet for the most part, although any noise from guests wasn’t any fault of the hotel of course! It was nice having the women’s area separate so felt comfortable. Showers and toilets very clean. Buffet downstairs for extra fee was great.

Very clean and comfortable pod hotel! Check in procedure was smooth. Homey and cozy lounge with movies playing every night. Complementary traditional Japanese breakfast was nothing fancy but very convenient and filling. It's the same every day though.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location was convenient (walking distance to station and city center). Beds were more comfortable than in many other capsule hotels (real mattress, etc.). Free tea & coffee + fridge in the room.
