Wilpattu
Get up close with wildlife and nature at Leopard Trails Wilpattu, a campsite with tents offering a private bathroom. Breakfast is included for guests during their stay and airport shuttle services can be arranged at a surcharge. Leopard Trails was a great spot for the safari drives in Wilpattu. Our host Malmi was very friendly and helpful for our stay, including being our guide on the safari drives - he was very knowledgable and made such an effort with all the wildlife spotting to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible. The food was delicious with lots of great Sri Lankan dishes. Our room was a tent style room which was comfortable and an enjoyable experience. The camp is in a beautiful, secluded spot. The dinner set up was great - when we came back from the safari drives there was a bar set up for our welcome back, and our table was set up for dinner so nicely with lots of lanterns and a fire, giving a fun and atmospheric environment. The camp is small with 5 tent rooms so the service was nice and personal.

The accommodation is air conditioned and is fitted with a seating and dining area. There is a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries in each unit.
The room was built well, spacious and had a great AC. From the room windows we were able to spot animals like monkeys and squirrels, and we saw plenty of birds in the area as well.
The staff were AMAZING. Super helpful and nice, always available for questions and explanations about the wildlife.
We booked the safari tour from the hotel and it was great decision - they provided us with great food and we were accompanied by Shantha, a guide from the hotel, who was friendly, professional and thanks to his knowledge we were able to see two different leopards in two different days. We recommend asking for the tour with him.

Highly innovative and fun rooms - containers on stilts! Unusual but it works brilliantly. Staff were very warm and friendly. Lastly, Tarique and Lakshi are brimming full of suggestions on activities and food recommendations. I’m glad we followed their advice: a highly memorable evening boat safari and fisherman’s dinner by campfire on a sandbank.
Great location next to Wilpattu National Park. The room was spacious, very clean, and the evening meal was excellent.. Dylan, the owner, is very friendly and arranged a full day safari for us, providing take-away breakfast and lunch, binoculars, and even a zoom lense for our phone. Our jeep driver was very experienced and knew where to spot leopards, bears, etc. Highly recommended.
Perfectly located on the edge of the national park. The setting is beautiful. The tents are spacious & have a living room which is great when sharing in a group. The night walk was fun too - the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable although it’s really just a 15 min walk around the campsite.
The evening dinner was a great experience under the stars with excellent waiters serving a nice dinner . Seeing the Wildlife on safari was a great experience and the wide range of birds , butterflies and some rare animals like the Loris. We also enjoyed the traditional cookery demonstration. Camping was much more comfortable than usual and we didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes. Organisation was great and catered well for vegans in our family.
The lodge is beautiful, amazing food, staff were very helpful with organising the safari and taxi to our next town. The room and ensuite very clean and spacious. Overall excellent stay and good value for money.
Great ambience at night around the fire. Loved the glamping tents. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location and its wild surrounding The whole well maintained infrastructure with its own specific charm The activities as sunset boat trip with a huge number of birds The Willpatu park very nearby with its grass/wetland part with high chance to see elephants (and less other jeeps) The really super friendly and helpfull staff incl the always well present owner The 100% environmental friendly concept The yummy local generous food The practical and very clean rooms The fair pricing for such a place
Great luxury camping experience on the edge of Wilpattu Game Park. Camp staff were very friendly and wildlife trackers very well informed. The morning jeep safari into the Park through the indigenous forest is amazing, whether you see many animals or not. Just soak in the atmosphere! Food generous and generally good quality.
Location was fantastic, staff were extremely helpful and very much there for us whenever we needed. The camp is very well set up with little areas for everything (check-in/reception, dinning, chillout space with couches etc and huge double tents Accom are all in their own little zones). If you like the idea of the camping vibe but still like a the pampering then I definitely recommend. It is for sure five star glamping due to the service provided
