The owner and her daughter were really welcoming making us feeling like if we were at home. The food was really good. They made us a special typical recipe that was amazing. The bed were really confortable and good hot shower :-)
Special word also to Erwin, who organize us a day trip and our guide Wendy that was really care fil with us.

Fantastic people running this guesthouse! Super helpful with local information. I also done the sunrise trek up Mount Sibayak which was organised for me by the guesthouse, it was a great trek! The room I booked with a Mountain view was great, bed was comfy and hot shower was nice!
We had such a great experience here that we extended our stay from planned one to two nights. Room is new, spacious and spotless clean. Flushing toilet, hot shower, sink, chairs and table, clothes dryer and not to forget very comfortable bed. View over fields and Vulcano. Possibility to sit outside. You really get hotel comfort combined with staying with a lovely family that welcomes you with open arms and really good food. Totally recommended if you don’t want/need to stay in the busy city centre.
Mary was an amazing host, helped booked our trip camping the volcano for sunset/sunrise, provided a map of the area & organised our travel to lake tobs. Breakfast was very nice & the homemade pizzas were very tasty.
The breakfast at smileys is just stunning!!! Best breakfast you will find in Sumatra with self-made bread and banana-cupcakes. The room was big and clean with a nice terrace and a beautiful view. The hostel is located around 15 min walk from the center away, near to a nice viewpoint where you can see the sunset. Smiley ans his wife are such nice people! I would definitely go againg!
The best accommodation in our trip in Sumatra. Very tasty breakfast, super clean room, good WiFi connection, hot shower. Kaesa and his family are very kind and friendly and you get the tips, what you can do in the city. We was sick and Kaesa took us to their private family doctor. Thank you for all!!
Kaesa and his family are incredible hosts! Provided detailed info about all the local activities (offering guided hiking tours of the local Mt Sibayak volcano also), as well as advice about how to get around Sumatra in general. They also are excellent cooks, and provide delicious food for a very reasonable price. Comfortable bed, hot showers... the list goes on!
My stay went wonderfully well! The beds are very comfortable, hot showers, efficient wi fi, delicious breakfast and above all the owners are adorable, very welcoming, I had a very very good time with them. I've been travelling around Asia for 6 months now and this accommodation is by far the best I've stayed in. I even stayed longer than planned!

The room is clean and tidy there is a hot shower in the bathroom i can rent a scooter and car at a cheap price, staff and owner very frendly and helpful
