Camping Pods, Golden Sands Holiday Park, hotel in Newton Abbot

Camping Pods, Golden Sands Holiday Park is located in Dawlish, just 1.5 miles from Dawlish Beach and 10 miles from Newton Abbot Racecourse.

The pod was sufficiently warm and cosy clean. I liked the entertainment in the evening. Friendly staff a scary rabbit that hates popcorn only joking a squirrel with a complex for solo singing. It was all fun but mainly for children. If you have children great fun. We don't so sapped the energy from the room I mean the positive energy. It was still fun. We had a great stay and enjoyed the experience. Very interactive adult Caberat was fine from about 9pm. Bingo was bingo really it was ok too.

Firstly, the staff are very friendly and always helpful. We stayed in one of the Bell tents, I’m not a keen camper but this was lovely, the tent has a plug so that you can charge your phone or use you hair dryer etc.. And the bed is so comfortable! The site is well maintained and modern. If you have food from the restaurant you won’t be disappointed, the food we had was delicious! Breakfast is a must. The site is next to road but I didn’t find it to be an issue, at all. Over all we really enjoyed our stay, everything was spot on, thank you.

Excellent service, good cooked breakfast. Excellent dinner main course, limited desert menu. Lovely en-suite (especially now water supply is pressured. Same room last year couldn't get any water at peak times!)

Great location. Tent was cosy and very comfortable…. Plenty of bedding …warm. Strong dry tents ….hearing heavy rain overnight sounded very relaxing …tent bone dry. Manager was a young lady …who was exemplary…. Could no fault any aspect of care and attention……sadly didn’t get her name - Thank you

We stayed in one of the lodges which was estuary facing and peaceful. It was lovely to watch some of the abundant wildlife on an evening. Staff were pleasant when we popped over to the main hotel to use the pool and the overall location and character of the property is good.

We liked everything the tent offered. The tents are beautifully furnished with a very comfy bed, bean bag seating, clothing rack and small table with tea and coffee making facilities and all on a carpeted floor. At night the solar lights make it easy to find your tent and the electricity provides power for lamps inside. There is plenty of room inside the tent and the fabric is heavy enough not to flap around like a basic ten ton the wind.

Stayed in one of the Bell tents and had one of the best nights sleep ever. The bed was so comfy. Lovely veggie breakfast. Staff friendly and welcoming. Beautiful surroundings. Loved waking to the sound of birds, the river, and some rather noisy sheep. 🤣
