Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. The room and the bed were extremely comfortable. It was also very quiet. They were able to check us in and let us into our rooms, even though it was still morning. Which was a very welcome surprise, since we had just arrived from our Viking River Cruise and wanted to rest before we ventured into the city.

The place was close to everything we needed (grocery stores, restaurants, public transport). Kai was very helpful as he gave us tips on what to do in Basel. He even let us use the washer and dryer, which were not mentioned in the listing. The room itself was clean, and the bed was very comfy. I'd highly recommend staying here for a night if you plan to visit Luzern the next day.
