We have stayed previous year also but now they have upgraded the houseboat with more amenities and comfort. Ac is functioning perfectly towards our need and good addition of beautiful traditional curtains.

I had a wonderful stay at Tashkand houseboat during winter season in January 2023. Musa, the houseboat owner, is very helpful and provide very good service. Dinner at Tashkand was our best dining in Kashmir as it's fresh meat, homemade, and no MSG. If you stay here I recommend trying 1 dining at his place. The place is clean and tidy. There's towels and amenities provided. There s no heater in the bedroom but it's replaced with warmed electric blanket which works very well to keep you warm at night, especially in winter. There are free shikara ride across to main road if you paid for shikara ride trip the first or second day. It's a special deal that the houseboat made with shikara riders so you will get the best deal and save money if you get shikara trip. It was the memorable, affordable house boat price. Very hospitable owner and good houseboat with a great view. The owner Mohd Goona ji also helped in negotiating a good rate for our shikara ride. The home cooked food, though bit expensive, was amongst the best we had in our stay if 9 days in Kashmir. The location is wonderful, being open to the lake from the rooms windows, and not adjoining other houseboats. Ghat 12 itself is the one from which the Dal lake opens up wide. For the price this houseboat is good value for money. Don't miss to take a Shikara ride - ideally take it to Char Chinar garden round trip

We booked for a night and ended up staying for a week. The owner Firdaus is a fun-loving host and made us feel at home. Even treated us to Eid lunch and took us swimming. Home-cooked meals can be provided. The wifi is very good and one can work out of here too. Would recommend this place

But I Actually Witnessed it on my trip to kashmir And stay in smith palace Houseboat The staff was exceptionally helpful and the propertier rayees bhai Arranged everything for us Around tg city transport and Sightseen . I felt welcomed at heart the food was delicious as they dont have a set menu , we were asked Prior for our food preferences and it was made Fresh according to our taste . Houseboat was clean And magnificent . We would love to make this trip again with Rayees bhai and i recommended to all my friends
