Skagakaia is located in Bø i Vesterålen. Offering a restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner based on local ingredients and tradition. WIFi, parking and bed linen are free. Everything. This place is a GEM. It’s a bit out there, but I like places that are a bit more removed. The view is spectacular, the room was clean and comfortable. Additionally, I arrived super late due to ferry schedules and was met by the owner who recognized I’d not eaten and made me dinner. We sat up and chatted for ages, she was so kind. It’s been just amazing and I can’t recommend this place enough.

A warm welcome, helped me park the motorcycle, showed me around the house. I had to stay a day longer because of the storm, offered to help with whatever I needed, and just now (the morning of departure) it started snowing really badly and he called to ask if I was OK. The house itself is very charming with the old characteristics, but has everything a modern house needs. The kitchen is very complete, the heating works well, the shower is great and the wifi works well. The location is also great; just off the ferry and walking distance to some nice restaurants.

Wonderfully shambolic accommodation full of bric-a-brac. Lovely looking restaurant and charming host. Nyksund is quite a way from anywhere but well worth the detour to see. In March there was virtually nobody else there but I suspect it gets pretty busy in summer. Would highly recommend.
