I've stayed in over 300 hotels the past 2 years and this property reminded me that smaller guesthouses can provide charm and service that chain hotels lack. Breakfast was excellent! The hosts were an extremely kind family who will interact with guests (or not if they prefer privacy). The home is warm with calm music playing all day but guests have private room areas. There is a comfortable lounging room that doubles as check in and a connected balcony that overlooks the city. I was able to walk around the neighborhood and do some shopping, however Windhoek is better suited for short and inexpensive taxi rides. Still, the location was fantastic.

Renette and her husband are the sweetest people. They welcome you as if you were part of their family and ensure you are comfortable and have everything you need. I can't express how much I appreciate their kindness during my stay. It was a pleasure to spend a couple of days with them and I would recommend they stay without any reservations.

Elegantly furnished and decorated in natural colours with rustic touches, the air-conditioned rooms come complete with a seating area, satellite TV, minibar and a safe. There were really nice little touches in the room that made it feel very personal; very quiet and restful; high quality fresh and well prepared food; wide range of available drinks; staff were always available; was never asked for my room number because the staff made sure they already knew; the perfect place to stay before and after a Namibian safari. Of particular note, the staff were absolutely terrific, always smiling, friendly, helpful and willing to put in the extra effort to ensure a memorable stay. There was no obvious pecking order of seniority or demarcation of roles which ensured a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I would certainly be pleased to stay here again and I can highly recommend Olive Grove to anyone who needs or wants to stay in Windhoek.
