The breakfest and enjoying the pool at grand Royal were very Well organized sonce the hotel offered tuk tuk rides there and back at anytime 😊

The Golden Residence, a property with a garden, is situated in Kegalle, 34 km from Kandy Royal Botanic Gardens, 39 km from Kandy railway station, as well as 40 km from Bogambara Stadium. The house is very clean, very big room with a huge and comfortable bed, big bathroom and all you need (soap, toilet paper, towel, purified water). The location is perfect to go to the elephants orphanage, easy reaching them with the local bus/tuk tuk. The gardens is very beautiful, with lots of plants. The owner offered tea and bananas as a welcoming treat and a garden tour (giving me some fruits too), all for free. The owner is a very respectful, honest and gentile person. The best place I've been in Sri Lanka to be honest. The price is too low for all the benefits the owner is offering. Great accomodation, quiet, cheap and very comfortable. A plus is the hot water and the possibility to have breakfast there (the best garden flower omlette).

Dunisha not only runs a wonderfully positioned hotel (right beside a river with wild monkeys passing through each morning) but he cooks too! The food he made for us was personalised, creative and delicious. Very delicious! Our room was very comfortable and anything we wanted he was happy to provide. If we passed through the area again, we'd definitely stay there. Very affordable accommodation and cheap but exceptional dinner. Great value for money!
