Ai, is the most amazing host. She is thoughtful, generous, and made us feel like family. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. She cooked delicious breakfast every morning, cooked us a traditional Japanese dinner on two of our nights there, took us to the fire festival in Nozawa Onsen and went skiing with us a couple of times. The location is perfect - right on the main street with easy access to restaurants, bars and slopes! Bedroom was spacious and we loved the onsens! Highly recommend!

The spacious rooms are located on the 2nd floor of a very cute café run by the owners. It is well-equipped and maintained, very clean everywhere. In the morning, there was an amazing breakfast downstairs in the café. Definitely stay for breakfast, it was an absolute highlight! If you stay in Yuzawa, you should certainly visit.

YAKATA - Vacation STAY 58660v is situated in Yuzawa, 22 km from Naeba Ski Resort, 9.1 km from Maiko Snow Resort, and 17 km from Tanigawadake. The accommodation is a cozy little bed and breakfast on the 2nf floor of the cafe (may not be easy to tell from the pictures.) The host was very friendly and picked us up from the train station (which we could've very easily walked from given that it's only about 700m away.) She was very friendly and was able to point out some local spots to get food and a good rental shop for ski/snowboard gear. We were also given free breakfast w/ drink at the cafe in the morning and allowed to store our gear downstairs and after checkout as well.

Situated in Tokamachi and only 13 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, 古民家宿Tani House Itaya -セルフチェックイン features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Amazingly charming historical house, maintained by owner with lots of love for every tiny detail. It was a place I’ve never been but I felt melancholic, absolutely a fantastic place to stay. Pity that we spent only for 14 hours in the house.

Providing ski-to-door access, a bar and free WiFi, KONAYUKI is a recently renovated guest house 33 km from Zenkoji Temple and 35 km from Nagano Station. We had a very nice time at konayuki. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Located just 12 km from Yukiguni Garden Park, NEMARU Live with Books provides accommodation in Nagaoka with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Nemaru is the embodiment of "cozy" - there's no end to the cute little curiosities lining the apartment! There are many delightful books to look at, as well as a projector for a fun home theater. There was clearly a lot of love put into these accommodations, and I think everyone will feel right at home here. Miura, the host, was also very kind and welcoming!

Ideally set in the Ikenotaira Onsen district of Myoko, Yado Brodiaea is situated 31 km from Zenkoji Temple, 33 km from Nagano Station and 43 km from Suzaka City Zoo. The hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming and accommodating. They provide a variety of information and recommendations and really try their best through the language barrier. Location was very close to a number of resorts (we also had a car). Breakfast was very filling and at a great price. The host also has access to discounted tickets for resorts in the area. We were very sad to leave.

Situated in Niigata and only 14 km from Niigata Station, Guesthouse ORI ORI features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The friendly host, cute cats, the local and international experience of staying together in a guesthouse.

Offering an open-air bath and mountain view, Muikamachi Hutte is located in Minami Uonuma, 17 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 40 km from Naeba Ski Resort. Great staff and amazing chill vibes in the lounge. I really wished I stayed here longer! The breakfast was really nice and the private onsen can be booked with ease. Recommended and I will definitely visit again.
