The property is as described in the listing but the photos don’t do it justice. The host - Gilles- was fantastic and made sure I was able to access the building and my room out of hours. He also made great recommendations for places to visit and to dine in the area and we had great conversations over an equally good breakfast spread. While there is no parking on site, the property is one minute walk away from a public parking lot and the area felt very safe. It is also very close to the train station and city centre which are great conveniences in a small town. There are no elevators in the property but there are two lovely studio apartments on the ground floor if accessibility is a concern. I would very likely stay here again as a base for visiting Provence.

It was also great that we could keep our cheese purchases in the refrigerator upstairs. It was also possible to prepare meals in the kitchen. The location is quiet so a good night's sleep was had by both of us (plus dog!). Note: there is internet and it worked for both our devices. Also, if you are traveling with a lot of luggage, the space may be too small for some.

The village is charming, the guest house is so cute, and there were fun added bonuses including a beautiful backyard area and indoor pool room (swimming pool and billiards). We will definitely return!

The location was close to gorgeous vineyards, outdoor shopping, and a city in France voted “the most beautiful in the world.”. The hosts were wonderful and their hospitality is something that you will not experience at other hotels. They had fantastic recommendations for dining and activities. The rooms have balconies with incredible views, reliable wifi and come with breakfast every morning. If we return to the area we will definitely stay at La Chaumiere again.
