Located in Grächen and only 42 km from Allalin Glacier, Mountain Lodge provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything is brand new and very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was the best that we had in Switzerland. It consisted of breads, juice, fruit cups, cheese, deli meats, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. You check in at the Pizza restaurant right next to the lodge, this was easy and the staff was very friendly. You do need to park in a garage a block away in a parking garage behind the Coop grocery store (See Pictures), but there is no cost to you, the Pizza restaurant will stamp your parking ticket. This was no problem at all, we pulled up directly in front of our room and unloaded our luggage and parked the car in the parking garage. We even arrived early and were able to drop our luggage off in the room which was helpful. The views are amazing from the room and there is a town square right outside the window with a church (bells ringing of course like everywhere else in Switzerland), restaurants and mountain views. We enjoyed walking around the small town and find a nice take away restaurant down the road. Like most places in Switzerland, the room has no AC, so you have to leave the windows open. We brought small USB fans which I highly recommend if you travel to Switzerland in the summer. I discovered in the morning that there are electronic controls for the blinds over the windows and doors.

Located in Saas-Almagell in the Canton of Valais region and Allalin Glacier reachable within 8.4 km, Pension Waldegg - restaurant provides accommodation with free WiFi, a children's playground,... Corina is very friendly and we had a perfect stay at Waldegg. Breakfast was simple and good. We had a 3 course dinner and it was great.

Boasting a bar, Chez Stéphane et Maria is located in Chamoson, within 39 km of Crans-sur-Sierre and 20 km of Mont Fort. It is situated 17 km from Sion and features a minimarket. We did not intend to visit the area but just sleep, but it's a very charming town. The room was perfect.

19 km from Sion in Chamoson, La Tzavane provides accommodation with access to a hot tub. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Absolutely fantastic small family owned hotel. Cozy, large, spotlessly clean room, great facilities, on-site parking and amazing breakfast. The owners are very kind and welcoming. Feel like visited aunt's house rather than stayed in a hotel. The location is perfect, though getting there without a car could be challenging. The place is in two-minute drive from a quite charming village with couple of great restaurants and wineries.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Le 30 is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Troistorrents, 29 km from Train station Montreux. A dream of an escape to Troistorrents - well connected on the trainline to Champery and the bus to Morgins. Peaceful surroundings - from deer in the garden, to watching sunset behind the Dents Blanches from the hot tub - every detail has been thought of, and all with a touch of luxury. Fiona was so welcoming to us, and was very helpful with suggestions for dinner and transport connections. The rooms are delightful - modern take on traditional chalet rustic - gorgeous hot shower and comfy bed. We had our own entrance which meant we could come and go. I highly recommend Fiona's breakfast (fresh pastries, bread, jams, fruit and yoghurt). Can't wait to come back - and next time I hope to stay longer!

Situated in Ayent, in a historic building, 11 km from Sion, Mayen2003 Ayent Anzère is a guest house with a garden and barbecue facilities. This place is a gem. The building and rooms are beautiful . The kitchen is well equipped. The host is very welcoming and happy to chat about things to see / do in the area (if you speak French, otherwise you may need some help from Google translate). And the location, while far from Sion, is close to some good hiking trails along the Bisse d'Ayant or Clavau. For the price, this place is a deal.

Bnb la Péniche, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Evolène, 26 km from Sion, 44 km from Crans-sur-Sierre, as well as 34 km from Mont Fort. Katherine is a wonderful host. The location in Evolene is perfect - a wonderful village and lots to do and see in the area. The breakfast was great. The local miel/honey was a real treat.
