This property is absolutely beautiful! If you love quietness and being surrounded by nature then I highly recommend booking a stay here. The owners are very lovely, warm and helpful and the rooms are really comfortable and have a lovely view into the main pool area. The beach is about a 1 minute walk behind the property and has some restaurants on it. This is located on a very quiet beach so it’s perfect of this is the experience you are seeking.

Zanzibar House Boutique Hotel, hotel in Pwani Mchangani

Situated on a private sand beach overlooking the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar House in Matemwe features a swimming pool and bar. Scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities are also available.

Big terrace on each room, with seating and day beds. Nice beach location, with private beach area. Spacious pool, with lots of seating and sunbeds. Attention to detail, things like a beach bag made up. Delicious meals in the evening, lots of opportunity to try different things. Recommend paying for the half board as it includes a 4 course meal each evening. Kayaks, bikes, bodyboards also available to use, which was great. There are also wild bush babies so if you’re lucky, you’ll get to feed them bananas, added plus for us! There was also lots of sustainable soaps in the bathrooms to use, which were lovely. Seemed like a very eco friendly place. Felt like a welcoming home stay.

Polly Lodge Bungalow Zanzibar Kiwengwa, hotel in Pwani Mchangani

Set 40 km from Peace Memorial Museum, Polly Lodge Bungalow Zanzibar Kiwengwa offers a private beach area, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

Simone and Paola were welcoming and generous hosts. They are Italian and their English not very fluent so communication at times was difficult. Paula even took me on a walk around the village and is obviously well thought of. The site is very well cared for and pretty. The rooms are spacious with a/c and a fan. Breakfast and dinner, prepared by Simone, are served outside your room. The beautiful nearby beach stretches for miles and it easy to access resorts and restaurants along it. However, be prepared to be pestered by the 'Masai' on the beach! There is a private sunbed area, but it is 50 metres away down an alley.

The property is located in a very convenient location, north-est of Zanzibar, very quiet, private and secure. The beach is 5 mins walking away from the resort. Since arrived we felt at home, anything you need or might wish will be provided. We wanted to book activities for the day, we ended up doing private tours with the guide who works for the hotel, he recommended us the most beautiful places to visit. Loved it, look forward to coming back!

Beautiful and quiet resort with multiple bungalows away from the village. Which are right on the beach with a lot of umbrellas. Excellent breakfast and even better time spent at dinners. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I felt safe. The whole resort was cleaned every morning, including the lovely pool. Excellent Wi-fi reception. One of the best resorts I have visited in Zanzibar.

Absolutely beautiful beach. Resort is completely charming and quaint, with lots of greenery and the sea a few metres away.. Rooms spotlessly clean with all amenities. Staff amazing, especially Doris and Pascal. Food has plenty of variety. Village life goes on around you with soccer games and seaweed harvesting. Can't recommend Mambo Ocean Resort enough. It was a real find. Thanks to Maya for her towel sculptures (elephants, swans and cats).

Great service, very homey feeling and a great location. It’s super close to the beach and they offer great experiences around the island with the transportation. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place to get away from the metropolitan lifestyle.

Very friendly staff especially the front desk lady and also the bar staff, always happy to help with any request and promptly. Beautiful sea view, 2 pools that are clean, nice deck chairs out all day. Food was decent, especially the vegetable curry which had great flavour. Very quiet and relaxing area with fresh fruit and local restaurants near by. Nice size portions on breakfast including local fruit and variety of eggs. Bar staff were very nice to keep our products in the fridge and provide us with cups and cuttlery when needed.
