Perfect little studio in an idyllic setting. Host Rose was lovely and welcoming (Nero the dog is also lovely). The studio had everything we needed, and we had a restful night’s sleep.

John and Ping are friendly and kind hosts, we felt very comfortable during our stay. We were warmly welcomed and quickly felt like we were staying at home. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the breakfast was very good too. We truly enjoyed our stay and talking with the lovely hosts. John and Ping also gave us some tips of what places to visit which we were very grateful for.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Harvey and his dog Gunner are the quintessential hosts. Gunner is friendly and so beautiful. He loves my dog too and that makes the stay amazing. Harvey, is too kind, and just a general all round wonderful, kind and caring host. Honestly, it's a clean, safe, quiet and welcoming home. I prefer to stay here and will always return esp as my boy (Charly the kelpie) feels welcome and cared for. WIN WIN
Harvey was a great host & very welcoming. Added bonus was Gunner the doggo (helped us get our doggy fix while away from our own). The bedroom was cosy & clean. The bed was comfy, private bathroom was a bonus.
Enoyed the chat & flat white in the morning before heading back home.
Thanks Harvey & Gunner for your hospitality 🙂
Dalkieith Boutique Bed and Breakfast is absolutely unique. The house has been so sympathetically restored and furnished you feel every part of being in a unique historic setting. Entering through beautiful gardens you really feel you have been transported to somewhere very special. We arrived 2 up on a motorbike and our host could not have been more helpful about ensuring we were happy with security etc. and we were very well looked after. The arrangements for breakfast were excellent and worked well with all our travel plans.
Nice private quiet location on a farm, close by to where we needed to travel to the next day to a sports event.
The property owner was very friendly and helpful and let us come back after the usual check out time to pack up and have a shower.
Breakfast option provided and additional food & drink available for a small price
