Our stay at Villa Agapanthe was unfortunately not what we had hoped for. While the hotel itself is beautifully modern and features a sleek, clean design, it lacks any Moroccan flair or cultural style, which might disappoint travelers looking for a more authentic experience.
The first impression upon arrival was not ideal. The outdoor area had a strong smell of manure, which made for a very unpleasant greeting. While this may be related to the surrounding area and not the hotel itself, it set a poor tone for what would turn out to be a challenging stay.
The staff, however, were incredibly kind and professional. They did everything within their power to assist us, but unfortunately, the circumstances were beyond their control.
The biggest issue was the lack of adequate heating in the rooms. The heater provided was not sufficient for the size of the space, and cold drafts seeped in from outside, forcing us to roll rugs by the doors in an attempt to block the chill. The hotel didn’t have extra space heaters available, which made it difficult to stay warm, especially while traveling with children. The cold conditions took a toll on us, and both my children and I fell ill during our stay.
To make matters worse, we experienced a power outage, which left us without electricity for an extended period. Unable to wait for the power to return in such cold conditions, we had no choice but to leave and seek alternative accommodations.
Additionally, the location is quite remote. While the area is being developed in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, it currently feels isolated and far from restaurants, attractions, or shops. A taxi is necessary for even the simplest outings, which may be inconvenient for some travelers.
It’s clear that this property may be better suited for summer stays, when heating isn’t required, and the modern design can be fully appreciated. However, during the winter, it lacks the warmth and comfort needed for a pleasant stay.

The riad is quite beautiful. I had the suite, which was spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I also had two dinners there, which were delicious with huge portions, prepared by Rahma. Raschid is the kind host. He was very caring and helpful. He recommended a nearby restaurant Dar Chadia for the first night’s dinner and it was especially good. He helped with the luggage and arranged an airport taxi. Located close to the medina. Comfortable bed and hot shower. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels. I highly recommend this riad for a great, tranquil stay where you will be well looked after.

The staff and the owner were extremely friendly and helpful. And the pools are beautiful and amazing and really privity for those who wish to swim in privacy.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
This is an ideal location if you do not want to stay in Fes. It is a quiet, hilltop town about 20 mins to the south. Kamal was away, but kept in close contact with us to make sure we could find the property. His wife, Jalila is a perfect host and an excellent cook - the 4 course meal was delicious and really worth having. We even wanted a recipe from her. Breakfast can be had on the terrace from where you look over the town and see Fes in the distance. A delightful stay.
Great location, stunning view by the terrace. delicious breakfast. Friendly and really knowledgeable host Kamal. He gave us lots of useful and practical info on how to travel in Morocco. Kamal is a proper city insider and knows a lot about Moroccan culture and history and thanks to his experiences abroad he possesses great communication skills. We are really grateful for all the info and support he gave us!
Simple and authentic place. Very clean. The place has a lovely terrace that views the small village, perfect for morning coffee. The rooms are very nicely decorated & the beds are so comfortable. Our hosts Kamal & Jalila are very welcoming couples. Plus the food cooked by Jalila was delicious. There is not much to see in the village itself unless you are looking for a quiet getaway from the busy cities and nice interaction with the locals. The inhabitant of the village are very friendly.
This place was an absolute highlight of my trip! Stunning view, delicious food, incredibly attentive owners, chic rooms with endless peace and quiet…Definitely a place that will stay in my heart.
