Fantastic breakfast, such helpful hosts and the grounds are stunning. Having monkeys, monitor lizards, squirrels and the sound of birds all around you was incredible. We so valued staying slightly further inland as it meant you could go and retreat after the beach in a busy little town.

This little gem of a hotel tucked away down a side street away from the pazazz and dazzling lights of the Unawatuna beach road, is ideal if you want that sanctuary feel , you know sometimes how it feels when you come home, after being out all day sightseeing I abs loved coming back to the calm and quietness of AURORA , Staff bending over backwards to help you with absolutley anything Nirosh and his team are there waiting for you so they can help with anything - an example of this kindness, my sim card did not work that i bought at the airport - without Hesitation Nirosh took me on his bike to the head office of the network which was in Galle to help sort my phone !! - thats the sort of help I am talking about ! The jungle vibe and chilled pool - huge bedroom , comfy bed , awesome aircon, fridge huge bathroom and even bigger balcony all modern and clean lines - makes this an affordable piece of heaven - and greatly located for the sightseeing in this area - as well as the most fabulous beaches - which are a mere mins away ranging from 5-15 mins Frog Rock, Palm Rope Swing, Turtle, Dalawalla, Mihiripena, Thalpe Beach - Jungle beach bit more of a trek but all walkable from this fab place ! Great location in the hills overlooking the coast. We had a ground floor room with nice garden terrace. The room was comfortable and large with icy cold air con. There is also a modern tv set up which on request you can access many channels.
Breakfast was good with eggs, toast fruit etc and us served at a time if your choice.
To get to the town/beach you can either take a short Tuk Tuk ride, walk down the hill or take the 155 steps through the monastery. It is steep but only takes 5 minutes.

Clean and spacious rooms, very nice staff, great location, very nice bathroom, AC working well and quiet, nice relaxing garden, bottles of water + tea/coffee provided, they also offer food but we did not eat. Right across the road from beach. We loved it! Recommend!
Such a great location, right next to the beach and we were lucky to have a room with a beach view. The staff were very lovely. We were there during off season so it was very quiet, but I'm sure during peak season it would be packed and have a great vibe.

Very good private beach - you really can bath when waves also, as the stones make this place not dangerous.
If you want to swim, you can go 5 minutes by foot to the right and swim on the central Unavatuna beach - with cafes, sunbeds and crowds of people and dogs.
