Our stay at Visu Villa was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. Ruwan, the host, was incredibly welcoming and genuine, offering excellent recommendations for places to visit at reasonable prices. We spent three nights at this charming, family-run oasis located about a kilometer outside of Habarana. Ruwan made us feel right at home and seamlessly organized activities for us throughout our stay.
We participated in almost all the activities he suggested, such as going on a safari, watching the sunset from a rock near Sigiriya Rock, and even had the opportunity to drive the jeep ourselves. Ruwan also gave us a personal tour around town, sharing fascinating insights into the history and culture of Habarana and Sri Lanka. He arranged a private show just for the two of us, where his friend performed some wonderful songs.
The food was incredibly tasty and authentically spicy, and the hotel was clean and beautiful, featuring a lovely pool and comfortable rooms. If you're looking for a place to relax and let someone else handle the planning, Visu Villa is perfect. What a beautiful garden and a lovely family! The hotel is located in what feels like a jungle. The hosts are so kind and friendly. The dinner was delicious, freshly made and so generous! Hotel is conveniently located at a walking distance from the main strip of Habarana where to pick from a selection of safaris, restaurants and activities to do in the area. The owners also offer to drive by tuk tuk if you're not the walking type. Such a great experience, we stayed an extra night. Oh and the coconut pancakes for breakfast were exceptional!!

Gimhani Guest House is really a very safe and beautiful place. Although we spent a day, we wanted to spend another day. The reason is that there are people who know hospitality very well. The distance to the eco park from here is very close. Walking distance. The friendly guest house owner explained all the details to us. Next day we also visited Sigiriya and Pidurangala. It is also very close to Minneriya Kaudulla park. A centrally located guest house can be named as many places to visit.

This is a lovely property in a great location for Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Minneriya National Park. Lots to see and do all around here. The room was big and comfy, with great views. The staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fab and they went out of their way to accommodate my husband’s dietary needs. We also booked a safari through the hotel, this was last minute and our jeep arrived within 5 minutes. The price of the safari was cheaper than I found online too so that was a definite bonus.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet dinner had a wide spread of dishes and desserts. The room was very private, quiet, and spacious. Check-in time was 2.00 pm but we were early, and they gave us our keys by 1.00 pm.
Jeewa was a great host! He was always trying to help and pretty much organised everything for us. The accommodation is very peaceful and the AC in the room was great.
We did several tours through him including Minneriya elephant safari, Sigiriya & Pidurangala rock, Spice garden, Cultural show and to get a Aryuwdric treatment. He dropped us off wherever we needed to go for a very cheap price.
The food cooked by Masha was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka!

Most hospitable family, also very helpful with recommendations as to what to see in the area eg. nearby lake walk at sunset.

Excellent place! The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. The place is quiet. There are only two rooms and are fully separated so you will not get noise from next door neighbours. The balcony is very nice to to sit there and relax. The owners are very friendly. Breakfast is delicious and even too much :)! Great location! Only 5 mins walk to big supermarket and bus stops. You can take bus easily to Sigiriya or also the tuk tuk is very cheap as the rocks are close by. There are direct buses to Kandy or Anuradhapura.

The host is very nice and helpful (stopped the bus for us, borrowed a charger, ...). The host only speaks little english. One time he did not understand us so he called his son Ishan to translate.

Habanara is the perfect location to visit Polonnaruwa, Annuradhapura, Sigyria and Dambulla - even by bus. Habanara is nicer than Dambulla.
One nice thing at this hotel were the beautiful rooms situated in quaint bungalows. While the term 'luxury' might be a bit overstated, the comfort of the bed and the unique shape of the housing more than made up for it. However, what truly sets this accommodation apart is the exceptional service. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
Outstanding! Beautifull young family providing a fantastic service the comfiest bed I have slept in. Ac can be set to freeze the nuts off an eskimo lovely and cool with private balcony with breakfast included in the super low price and they can even arrange a tuk tuk cheaper than any other in town would not stay anywhere else if I was to go back 10 minutes walk to the town with restaurants and supermarkets dotted inbetween
