This family-run compound, set off the main road and nestled in the forest, is an absolute delight. The staff, including all family members, are friendly, warm, and happy to help with whatever you need. The food is fantastic; it is all homecooked, and they will facilitate whatever you want. We are both vegetarian and the food that was provided was the best we had eaten in Sri Lanka. The nearby beach, accessible by free tuk-tuk ride, is simply the most magnificent, untrammelled beach I have ever seen. Spotless, golden sands, warm blue water and stunning scenery.
The rooms are enormous with comfortable beds, clean (outdoor!) bathroom and a lovely porch. The entire resort was spotless.
We spent 11 days in Sri Lanka in total, across a range of different style accommodations, 5* to 2* hotels and this was easily the best place we stayed.

Fabulous beach hotel. The staff were attentive and always happy to cater to our needs. The room was clean, comfortable and perfect view. The food was delicious and flavourful. The grounds are neatly kept. During our stay, there were many other couples enjoying their stay, in a comfortable quiet and relaxing atmosphere. No kids to be seen which made it even more wonderful to unwind. We will be back.
Kumu Beach is a cosy boutique hotel, which is mell managed by exceptional staff. The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel premises are well maintained, with a lovely garden and excellent swimming pool.
The most beautiful location, quiet, almost private beach, amazing design, comfortable rooms, nice food and of course, exceptional service, tailored and we really felt cared for. We traveled with our 2 year old that enjoyed the pool and the beach. I also was able to enjoy an amazing full body massage in the beach in the morning.
The hosts were very accommodating and got anything that we requested. The view of the lake was beautiful and the environment was very peaceful. These days in Sri Lanka it is hard to find a vacation spot that is not crowded but this place was perfectly quiet. Also the room was amazing! The pool was beautifully kept and maintained.

This hotel is situated in a secluded area. There are no more hotels around and it's just a few minutes walk to the beach. The beach near this hotel is very beautiful and there's nobody there so you can feel like on an uninhabited island. The hotel and it's area is very pretty and clean. Everything is clean and comfortable. The staff is also very helpful. This hotel is for you if you just want to spend a night away from everyone and in the quiet.

The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms, and high quality service.
