This is definitely a family friendly establishment where domestic tourists and international (inboundos as they call us ;) ) can meet and connect.
As there's not a lot going on at night in Miyakojima, the guest house is great place to unwind, drink with other guests and play board games.
We even were able to organise our own barbecue party.
We also highly recommend the yabaji excursion. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Izumi was a great host and the breakfast she made was delicious!
It was close to Bora beach, which was great. And with the bike I could rent for free (electric, at some point, even!) it was wonderful to visit the amazingly beautiful green areas around, all the way to Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, as well the other beaches, like Yoshino Kaigan Beach. I was traveling around the island with the local bus (no 1), which runs like 5-6 times a day, so, not very often, which is why it was nice I could use the room, shower, snorkeling kit and bike after the time of check out, for an extra fee, until later in the afternoon, when the bus was scheduled.

My boyfriend and I travelled to Miyako together for a surfing holiday. The host of this place, Osan, is incredibly friendly. We had so much fun together and cooked for each other. One day, he took us on a tour around the island and to show us his favourite Soba restaurant. We drank coffee together every morning. He is so welcoming and we didn’t even speak any Japanese.
His homestay has 3 different rooms. We stayed in the double room upstairs. The room had an air conditioner and was clean and comfortable.

The cottage-type facility surrounded by nature is peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast and access to a beach is very good. All the staff including the room cleaning staff were very friendly and willing to welcome guests. As the facility is out of the city center, the night sky is very attractive. If lay-back chairs or hammocks can be arranged in the garden, people can spend time star-gazing. If you are coming for a quiet, relaxing vacation with amazing views of the ocean, you will get it here.
Clean, bright, located just over the road from the beach so it’s quieter and more private than its twin hotel Santa Monica. The hotel is in the Shigira complex so you receive complementary cable seats ticket (800yen/adult) and one time parking at Shigira beach (1000yen/car). The facilities are generous. I will come back.
great location. quiet. in the room there is a washing machine and dryer. staff is very helpful, we had to cancel one night and the staff help us and solve it with booking
