Very cute and very wholesome, I loved it. It’s right across the street from the beach and a shrine, and we could hear the waves at night. The room was clean and simple with a simple bathroom. It’s a surfer’s paradise and we also saw a family there which was very cute. A very nice sac-lunch style breakfast was provided for us in the morning. They asked ahead of time if we had any food allergies, and they made us a lovely vegetarian sandwich for breakfast.
Their system for onsen use was also great! They left keys for them private onsen at the front desk as a first come first served, and limited the use to 40 mins which is more than enough time. We used the stone onsen at night, and it was magical to be able to hear the ocean waves and gaze up at the stars. It feels like it is family-run and everyone, including the cook in the morning, was very friendly which is lovely. I will return here the next time I visit Shimoda!

The room was basic, but very clean and comfortable.. The balcony had a great sea view. It was so quiet and peaceful. The owner was very friendly. It was up in the hills, so ideally you need your own transportation.

Nice host
Water from the water head is huge
A beautiful and quite garden
A huge shared living room
What you see in the pictures is what you get.
No onsen but you can enjoy a bath in the bathroom
This bnb has 2 bedrooms, 1 toilet, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen, 1 huge living room. It is not near the sea but near the inatori station. Actually I think this bnb is best for a family with two children or for friends of 4. Then you can order 2 rooms( thus the entire bnb) and feel free to have parties using the living room and the kitchen. I was solo traveler and the other guest in the other room is the same. Me and the other guest kept everything quiet and went out early went back late lol kind of wasting the facilities this house offered.

Tanaka-san was a great host, going out of his way to ensure we had a good time and knew how to get to our desired spots. He even took us to the closest ATM before checking out. Great choice!
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Very nice place. The house has a common living room, kitchen, mineral water bath, toilets, as well as private rooms with a balcony. The owner showed me to see fireflies, which was very nice.
This place is a luxury, you are treated exceptionally well, the staff is extremely helpful and kind and so very welcoming. The amenities and location are just amazing, you can walk along the beach as it's right across the street, There are only a few rooms so it is very peaceful, the onsens are amazing, the staff made us wonderful ice coffee to relax with outside as well. I wish I could have stayed longer.
The house is traditional style and amazing, you can enjoy the private Onsen. The room is comfortable. I was the only guest that day so the host took me to the seven waterfalls by car. So kind. Thank you
Everything was positive about this ryokan! Staff were extremely friendly. The onsen bath in your private balcony was fantastic, having the luxury of enjoying onsen in your room. They also had two private onsen rooms which you can book to use for free!
We stayed for two nights and had kaiseki for dinner both nights, which were amazing as well. It was truly an unforgettable experience staying here.
Very charming and cosy. Authentic japanese atmosphere. Tatamis room is PERFECTLY CLEAN, as well as bedding. View on the ocean. Fridge, TV, kettel, tea set.WONDERFUL 2 private ONSEN, indoor and outdoor, each one different. Delicious japanese Breakfast. Free wifi. Owner speaks a little english and is very helpfull. A must go .
It is very close to the train station though you have to walk a very steep slope. Walking to Kawazu to see cherry blossom is about 20 mins along the sea, quite romantic walk. Or you could take a train for just one stop. You could stay away from the huzzle of Kawazu city centre, very quiet place. The staff is very helpful.
