The location is great. It's a 15-20 minute walk to downtown and it's very close to the water. The rooftop is a relaxing place to spend a morning with a view of Sakurajima. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I like that they list all the ingredients of their natural shampoo/soap in both English and Japanese in the shower. Getting a private room with AC to control my own climate for such a low price is an incredible value.
Only a 1-minute walk from JR Kagoshima-Chuo Station, Kagoshima Little Asia offers dorm beds and private rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout and rental bicycles.

The location is great - close to the main train station. Also the staff was nice and they left some coockies to take when leaving the hostel.

I liked this place! The owner is flexible, the rooms are confortable, and there is a good space for work or study on the second floor. Also the location is not too far from the city center. This place is a good choice regarding value for money.
P.S. There is an elevator (from the second floor)
民泊マエダハウス B&B Maeda House is located in Aira, just 15 miles from Kagoshima Chuo Station and 12 miles from Kagoshima Station.

The owner was super nice, spoke English, let me use his bike, and picked me up! The wife was super fun and nice too! She was really inclusive and also did a great job accommodating my stay!
Being able to explore the city with the bike made my stay a lot more fun and exciting, as well as cost efficient!
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Great Hostel in a central location. Super clean and perfectly equipped. Stayed in the dorm and in a private room, both were perfect. Super nice tenant, would definitely recommend staying here!
The host Shoko was very friendly, gave good tips and greeted me warmly when I arrived and left. The space was cosy and comfortable and the hostel is in a great location. The space is a little bit old, but it's charming and clean so not a problem.
Great location in Kagoshima and the house itself was nice and clean, we loved the quiet rooftop with views of the volcano and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The two-person bunk-bed room was quite small but still comfortable and cozy and the staff was lovely.
It's absolutely an alright place to stay. Don't go if you're desperate to meet new friends. Although we had a couple of fun talks, it's mostly a quiet hostel. 100% value for money and super conveniently located near the train station. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Cheap washing and drying.
The location of the hotel is convenient; just few minute walk to the JR station, and city centre.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
The room is spacious, clean and tidy, quiet and best of all is washing machine provided.
The owner was super friendly and accommodating, and always responded very quickly. He gave us lots of great advice for travelling in and around the Kagoshima area.
The place was in a great location with nearby restaurants and a supermarket. The city centre is a nice walk or short bus ride away. The room itself was nice and had everything we needed ready and waiting for us.
Highly recommended, would love to be back!
