Even though the photos may look very 90s, the house itself is very cleanly and stylishly decorated. It is very much out in the fields and you hear all the wildlife if you open the windows. The host was very friendly and allowed us to check in later than listed for which we were very thankful.

A courteous senior runs the guest house. She explained the operation and rules using translator. The guest house is newly renovated and it retains traditional wooden structure and flooring. It is warm and cozy in chilly autumn. That night I was the only one in the dorm. Travellers staying in other rooms were understanding. I had a sound sleep.

This guesthouse is beautiful and clean with a lovely host. I love the hostel feel, everyone from around the world staying in one place. It’s right in Magome, no walking necessary to get to town. The room with the Mountain View was incredible!

Everything here was amazing- being greeted by name, given tea as soon as I sat down and a breakdown of the trail and noteworthy points in town.
Played Othello with Ken, I swear I was winning at one point. Haha

Cozy and super comfortable Japanese futon mats for sleeping. Simple yet delicious healthy food!!! One of the best we’ve had in Japan. The ryokan’s owner is a sweet lady. Love her family’s hospitality. Very peaceful and relaxing.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Property is facing Ena and river which is located at the top of small hill.
View from room is fabulous. Clean and big size for 3 persons in group. Futon are great.
Onsen is big and good. There is an outdoor onsen put as a bonus.
The surrounding area is quiet and property has its own parking so it’s not a problem if you drive.
Staff are friendly. Breakfast is just so so. Limited choices. However, the restaurant also has same view of river so it’s enjoyable when having your breakfast.
Outstanding property which exceeded our expectations in all fronts. Peaceful, clean and such a great example of ryokan hospitality in rural Japan. Toki is an exceptional host who warmed our hearts with friendly and loving care - using google translate we had alot of laughs. You are a very special person Toki and definitely a highlight of our trip. Toki was very helpful with organising things with and for us and Iwamura is a beautiful quiet town with no westerners. Lovely rural stay
Great location, beautiful view on the lake, nice to stay in a Japanese style room and the onsen is always a good treat. The staff doesn't speak English very well, but really try to give the best service possible.
The kids loved the gimmick of staying in a portacabin. It was well insulated and quiet. Room is obviously compact, but clean. Surprised to receive free beverages and frozen ready meal available for pick up at reception.
Cute container rooms, bed was comfy and area was quiet. Plenty of supermarkets nearby, a reasonable walk from the railway station, about 20 minutes, really catering for road travellers. A light meal was supplied but no plates or cutlery in the room but overall, a pleasant experience.
The resort is located in a quiet residential area. It was great for a tranquil evening stroll around the neighbourhood, away from city. Our room was huge ... lovely.
The friendly staffs. Warm welcome and brief clearly. Guide you to the room with patiently.
The Japanese style breakfast prepared by owner is delicious.
Room clean and quiet. Nice view.
