Seydisfjördur Guesthouse, hotel in Seyðisfjörður

This Seydisfjordur Guesthouse is situated in the eastern fjords of Iceland, 25 minutes’ drive from Egilsstadir Airport. It offers free WiFi and a garden.

This was a lovely, well equipped guest house. The host was welcoming and helpful, but unobtrusive. We enjoyed the camaraderie in the communal kitchen and the opportunity to interact, in passing with fellow travellers. We also enjoyed the location: the proximity to the waterfall and the lake and the quiet calm of the town.

Finnstaðir, hotel in Egilsstadir

40 km from Hengifoss in Egilsstadir, Finnstaðir offers accommodation with access to a hot tub and open-air bath.

We really liked all the amenities they had for us, from hot tub to laundry machine/dryer. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and warm up our food and the beds were super comfy. We also loved seeing the animals on the farm, like the ducks and sheep wandering around. Helga was also very accommodating when we accidentally locked our key in the house as we were able to get a spare key from her next door.

I loved the comfortable bed, the very hi spec kitchen, high level of cleanliness and incredible location in Egilsstaðir. I sadly could not explore Seydisfjordur. I nearly crashed the hire car on road F93 in the snow :(

Perfect location! Close to the centre with car park. Good facilities. Very clean. Comfortable beds, good quality pillows, bed linen. Really liked the nice toiletries that were provided (we had a private bathroom). The kitchen was spacious and well equipped with a nice sheltered patio. It was nice and quiet at night ( in rooms at front and back). The full length mirror in the bedroom (rare to have a mirror outside of the bathroom).

Beautiful historic hotel in a quaint Icelandinc village, a great experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated with vintage furniture and super stylish, we loved it, and the facilities are excellent. please don’t be put off by other reviews mentioning you can hear the wooden floors when other guests are walking, it’s simply not the case and the peoperty is too charming to focus on these details, which are of course normal for a historic house. Truly enjoyable experience, would absolutely recommend.
