And that's how our conversation started again. Always lovely when you walk in and the host instantly recognises you, and then we have a bit of a catchup. Steinunn is our number 1 host and I always try and stay here each time I go to Reykjavic. Really lovely rooms, great property with an absolute stack of character that's now become so popular that's it become difficult to get a booking.. so if you do, you're lucky. We've met lots of people here over the wonderful breakfasts - and our #1 favour part is that Steinunn pulls out a map and directs us to somewhere we haven't been before.. but really want to go to. This time we drove clockwise around the entire country and she advised on a restaurant at the western peninsula that absolutely rocked, Thankyou Steinunn as ever!

A really delightul, locally run guest house that is situated a stone's throw from the bright lights of Reykjavik! Very clean (even with the shared bathroom), relatively spacious and for the literary buffs among you - it's even the former home of poet, Thorbergur Tordarsson!

Great guesthouse right across from the famous church -Hallgirmskirkja . I could see the church straight out my window while lying in a very comfortable bed. Great comforter. The Sunna was perfect in every way. Very clean, shared bathrooms and showers too, very quite. Very close to all the Reykjavík attractions and museums, walkable everywhere including all the shopping, dining , coffee and traditional Icelandic markets you could ask for and close to the harbor and the Perlan Museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any directions or recommendations. This place gets a 10 all the way. I stayed 4 nights and will stay again when I return to glorious Iceland 🇮🇸!!

All instructions were perfect. Received replies to questions quickly. Facilities were as described. Location likely not perfect with those without a vehicle. However, we managed public transport easily and we walked from the city centre back with ease. A place to stay most definitely

The guesthouse is very strategically close both to the city centre and the bus terminal (from which the buses to the airport depart directly, with no need to book for the drop off/ pick up service), but at the same is in a quiet and very green residential area. The room is small (but it was clear from the pictures posted, so no surprises there) but very clean and comfortable. Thorey was a great host and ready to help when I called her before arriving, and left very specific instructions for us regarding our stay. Lovely dog too!
Lovely choice of common sitting areas. Great buffet breakfast - loads of variety and choice. Great location just a short stroll to city centre and shops. Next to the old working marina. Plenty of places to eat nearby but be aware if Icelandic prices - great quality food but not cheap - not the hotel’s fault in any way.

Excellent beautiful modern room (bed, bathroom etc.) just like on the photo's. It's a recent build new hotel, that's why. Only around 10 minutes walk from beginning main street (foodhall/BSI bus platform). If book earlier is average cheaper then the ones in and around the city centre. No noise from people outside, because quiet neighborhood. You can sleep much better also rooms are more isolated.
Very good price for a single room in Reykjavik, was even cheaper than dorm-beds in some hostels! Good location, only a few minutes walk to city center. Supermarket next door, still the street itself is rather quiet. Very clean and also has basic equipment for cooking.

Baron's Hostel is cheap, super clean, with very confortable beds. Dormitories are small, thus quiet. The hosts are charming and very helpful. The location is excellent, close to city centre and BSI. There's an excellent swimming pool just accross the street, with hot pots to relax after a busy day. I could'nt wish for a better place to stay in Reykjavik.
