Hörgsland Guesthouse, hotel in Kirkjubæjarklaustur

This bed & breakfast is located in Kirkjubæjarklaustur and at the edges of the Skaftafell glacier and Lakagígar volcanic formation. Free WiFi is available in public areas.

Well located for the area. It offered excellent amenities for a guest house: I had my own bathroom! Room was more spacious, nice big common areas. The breakfast offered a bit more variety than most guest house. All in all, at the top of my guest house experience in Iceland. The horses in the nearby paddock will be particularly friendly if you pull some nice grass for them from outside the fence.

Dalshöfdi Guesthouse, hotel in Kirkjubæjarklaustur

With unspoiled views towards the Vatnajökull Glacier, this countryside guest house is 16 mi from Kirkjubæjarklaustur village.

The two-bedroom guesthouse was clean and comfortable, plenty of space for 5. The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee and even waffles provided. The property is way off the main road and BEAUTIFUL. We saw the northern lights from the front door and enjoyed walking along the river. Location was great for exploring Vatnajokull glacier and nearby sites.

The location was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet, private, and the first night we stepped out the front door and watched the Northern Lights which was awesome! It also put us half way between 2 locations we wanted to see so everything was perfect. We were a 3 generation family of 5 guests and it felt like a second home. The owners were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I strongly recommend Eaglerock Guesthouse.

The room was pretty spacious. The dinner in the restaurant was probably the cheapest meal we had in Iceland. Nice surprise. Good breakfast. Quiet area away from the road.
