The location good, close to facilities especially if you like a good walk up the mountain. The breakfast was excellent, well cooked and tasty. Frances behaved professional and nothing was too much for her to make our stay comfortable. She even offered to warm our home made food for us to eat after the long drive👍. She also gave us landmark of the area and interesting places around the area to explore. After check out, Frances agreed for us to leave our car for couple of hours while we went on the boat ride. Customer service is excellent and would recommend this hotel to guests.

Lovely cosy rooms and a great location, food was exceptional too! Value for money on the room options was fantastic and amazing for the Lake District. Such a pretty little village and the ghost tour - tallow tales was amazing so we’d definitely recommend that! Queens head pub was a lovely cosy Cotswold style pub for a drink and the shops were wonderful!

The food is excellent. Recommend the Mauritian curry and grilled king prawns to anyone wanting a change from the usual menu selections.

Great location with helpful, friendly staff. Our booking wasn't clear on arrival -the Booking.com website indicated we'd booked an apartment but we ended up in a great shepherd's hut, with private hot tub.
Great location for my swimming trip, clean, quiet, comfortable, very relaxed and welcoming of our large dog. Evening meal (Sunday roast dinner) and breakfast were excellent.
Lovely little Shepherds hut, very private with its own grounds, hot tub and firepit. Great location onsite at the pub but far enough away not to hear any noise.
It's a quaint cottage with an interesting layout and a charming garden. The kitchen is well equipped and the living/dining area was spacious and comfortable. It's always nice to find a selection of teas, coffee and biscuits upon arrival! It's easy to walk or drive to Coniston and there's a pub and deli virtually opposite. The wi-fi is good - a bonus as phone signal was not strong.
Excellent self catering accommodation with great views, wood burner, hot tub and a balcony. The property is really quiet and accessible from a private entrance.
I stayed in the Hideaway, a lovely little secluded room in the grounds of the Wheelgate guesthouse, my own private space with a seating area outside, I had an ensuite shower, toilet and sink, good WiFi and a TV, and a mini fridge, perfect for a quiet weekend escape. Lovely breakfast and very friendly, pleasant people, I will certainly recommend to friends and family.
