This place is so charming and conveniently close to things that might be the best for a short stay in St. Albans. It is literally across the street from the entrance to the beautiful, remarkable cathedral… a block away from the old city-center and nightlife… and two blocks from the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market and Crafts Fair that stretches for blocks and blocks.
The hotel is a gem! First built in the late 1400’s and kept up to date – but still with a medieval feel and layout – and easy, free car parking on site. We’ll gladly stay here again!

Very convenient for train into London. Staff very helpful & friendly. Great breakfast choices to start the day. Wonderful Sunday roast! Becca was beyond helpful, especially with helping us with parking. Very clean & comfortable updated rooms.

This lovely 2 bed garden room, with shared bathroom, was a perfect solution for us so that our children had their own room, but adjacent to us and safe. The rooms are exactly as per the photos and have a mini fridge, microwave, kettle and some crockery. The bathroom is compact but absolutely fine for an overnight stay, with a good shower. Sally was a wonderful host and was really quick to respond to queries. We would happily stay again. Thanks for having us!

it was a small room with en suite. had to call the manager to tell him that the electrics were not working in rooms, and he has given a full refund which was fair.

It was so nice to be able to sit outside at one of the tables in the garden and enjoy the setting sun with supper. Breakfast was spectacular and prepared at the moment. We were not bothered by noise at night even though there is an adjoined pub. Perhaps that depends on the particular day of the week. The hosts were so friendly and went out of their way to help.
The location requires dexterity to reach form Luton. We suggest a taxi from Luton airport if you don;t have a car.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Very secure access to property. Free parking out front. Communication from host was great pre stay with clear instructions and video on how to access the property. Room was very clean and spacious as was the bathroom.
Located approx. 5 mins drive from city centre. 25 mins walk. Approx. 10 mins from M25 so great location. Above shops but don't let that put you off as the rooms are great and to a high standard.
