Newsham Grange Farm, hotel in Northallerton

In 16 acres of land on the outskirts of Thirsk, Newsham Grange Farm offers luxury bed and breakfast between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had booked the right place! The photos do not do justice to the quality of this accommodation and Sue was so helpful and accommodating, from allowing an earlier check in to letting us order a takeaway on the Friday night!

Julie had thought of every little detail. Lots of goodies to eat on arrival and a delicious breakfast the next morning. Fox Hill was perfect for two and we even had our own outdoor area and could wander round the garden - which is beautiful.

The food ( we had lunch, evening meal and breakfast) was excellent throughput. Everything was good quality product and was cooked so well. The blt I had for lunch was the vest I've ever had, and the twice fried chips were out of this world! The room was very comfortable, cosy , clean and well equipped. Probably the best part of the stay, though, wre the staff. They were all friendly, helpful and made us feel really welcome throughout the stay. It's a place we will remember very fondly and will return to when we're in the area. Excellent all round and highly recommended!

Breakfast was left in the property for me to help myself and there was a good variety of food to choose from, including bread, fresh fruit and yoghurt. There were treats too! Having access to the microwave was very useful. The space was bigger than I had anticipated, quiet, very private and within easy reach of the town and the station on foot. Being able to look out over the fields was a bonus. It was a great space in which to relax.

Great hosts very welcoming and hospitable. Tea and cake on arrival and fresh fruit and delicious chocolates in our room. We were in the twin room overlooking the beautiful walled garden at the rear of the property so it was nice and quiet and the room was very comfortable. Great breakfast with plenty of choice, the Yorkshire breakfast was excellent. Porch House is ideally located on the High Street just a 15 minute walk to the railway station. We are looking forward to a second visit.
