The Badger Inn, hotel in Church Minshull

The characterful, 18th-century Badger Inn provides stylishly appointed accommodations, 5 miles outside Winsford, Cheshire.

The pub and restaurant have a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Dinner was superb. I was looked after by a most attentive waiter - the level of service was that of a Michelin star restaurant. I had the vegan ice-cream and apple pie on his recommendation for dessert (I'm not vegan). It was I think the best apple pie I have ever had. Breakfast was of an equally high standard. Unfortunately I arrived late and left early so did not have a chance to enjoy the beautiful outside terrace. I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Badger Inn

I have stayed here before and despite the accommodation being basic, it met my needs ( a bed for the night). The rooms are always spotlessly clean and tea /coffee supplies are in generous measures. Its very quiet during the evening and has a lovely canal side beer garden. The owner is so welcoming and friendly and has never once let me down. The welcome received is always a warm one

A comfortable and cosy room with a private bathroom, not en suite, but right opposite. Everything I needed for an overnight stay. The adjoining cafe has a good variety of breakfast choices and there's a charming farm shop to stock up for the onward journey.

We really didn’t enjoy the breakfast, found it to be sparse, very salty, no choice given for how we wanted our eggs. Very limited cereal choice, very limited yogurt choice and the one I chose was very close to use by date and tasted off. Fresh fruit selection was poor and looked like it was picked up from the floor at an orchard as a cheap option. No choice of toast either, served brown with very little butter provided, felt awkward asking for more. Clear to say breakfast wasn’t a hit

Location great and with the rooms being in a separate building from the main pub it was very quiet and private. A nice touch. Dinner in the pub was really good value. Food was fresh nicely cooked and generous portions.
