Scottish Equi B&B, hotel in Lanark

With a 4-star rating from the Scottish Tourist Board, The Scottish Equi B&B offers high-quality accommodation on Lanark Racecourse.

Other than the friendliness of staff, the great breakfast for me - soya milk, gluten free cereal and gluten free toast, with a great soya latte. I also liked the super toasty room, much appreciated on a cold winter's night!

Bamflatt Farm Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Strathaven

This family-run B&B is situated in central Lanarkshire, 30 minutes’ drive from Glasgow. There is free WiFi and free parking on site, and Larkhall Train Station is 10 minutes away.

It was easy to find the farm which is extremely well signposted. There was a welcoming reception from the hostess and the room was extremely comfortable - and warm on a rather cold night. In the room there was helpful information about where one might eat in the area — and I was very happy to make use of this information. In the morning breakfast was freshly cooked and before I left I was given helpful information about how long to leave to get to my destination that day.

This is a great place to stay: Homey, comfortable, well-equipped and quiet. We stopped here after a camping trip and it was the perfect place to regroup and get clean, and feel like we were being treated to a little bit of luxury. Lin and Hector are lovely hosts, and it was nice to know they were next door if we needed anything. We would definitely come back and also recommend to friends.

We chose New Lanark Mill as a cheaper stopover for a trip to Edinburgh and found a gem! It's a destination in itself with beautiful grounds, a luxury hotel experience and interesting history. We'll definitely go back and stay longer next time.

Fabulous hosts, food, cleanliness, quality of environment, location, decoration and parking. A and A just cannot do enough for you, this is how every hotel, guest house or bed and breakfast should be run! Loved the proximity to M74! Homely environment, peaceful and quiet, great night’s sleep, a very, very comfortable bed. A gold star environment in every way!

Colin was very welcoming upon arrival. Breakfast was a DIY affair, in the room upon arrival. There was a really good selection of cereals, with porridge an option, croissant, and lots of fresh fruit, and a fridge to keep everything cool, as well as the expected tea making facilities. The room was spacious and the private bathroom had a shower and a bath. Parking was easy, and the location was within easy walking distance of Lanark centre, but off the main road, so quiet.
