The Cholmeley Arms, hotel in Grantham

The Cholmeley Arms is located in Burton-le-Coggles, in the countryside 20 minutes’ drive from Grantham.

The rooms were clean, nicely furnished and we had a fridge with fresh milk and water. There was a good choice at breakfast, the omelettes and full English breakfast were excellent. We had a meal on both nights, again plenty of options to choose from including a specials board. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful.

Riverside Guest House, hotel in Grantham

Set within 22 km of Somerton Castle and 30 km of Lincoln Medieval Bishops' Palace in Sleaford, Riverside Guest House features accommodation with seating area.

Very close to town centre allowing access to food and drink. Parking, for the area, was good but you needed to take care manoeuvring in tight confines. Simple continental breakfast with very good coffee.

The Mallards, hotel in Grantham

The Mallards is located in Sleaford, 30 km from Lincoln University, 19 km from Belton House, and 23 km from Somerton Castle.

The location was right on the edge of the centre of town. The staff were excellent and super-friendly and the accommodation represented excellent value for money. The cooked breakfast was monumental. I will not hesitate to stay there again. It is my first choice for staying in Sleaford.

Huge, rambling, ‘characterful’ old country house. Feels like staying in the home of an eccentric relative rather than a hotel. Enormous comfortable bedrooms with sofa’s, armchairs and a DIY mini-bar fridge. Owner very helpful and changed my room without a fuss when I couldn’t open a window. Ideal if you’re travelling with dogs, especially room 8 which is a ‘suite’ with a kitchen and has french windows straight out onto a big private garden. Easy parking. Excellent breakfast. Very good for the price.

An gorgeous stay in a superbly well equipped cottage at the side of the pub so you had food and drink next door and then a peaceful and quiet stay to look forward to. The pub owners are so friendly and welcoming and 100% go the extra mile to do anything they can to help. The food is delicious and I even got a parking space off road for the car right next to the cottage. The breakfast was so generous, with cereals and pastries, toast if you wanted it, yougurts fresh fruit. Incredible.

Location amazing for relaxation, quiet and wildlife observation. Yvonne the owner is a fabulous host. Every little detail considered. Property is stunning and the communication was excellent. Milk and a cake in the fridge for our arrival can't fault anything. Great property, great host and great location if you want an out of the way, walking, reading relaxing break away. Also try the beauty salon on site Charlotte is excellent.
